Andy looks awkward tonight. He needs more help but he also doesn't look himself. -

Okay. I'm home. I got the pizza at my usual spot (on TCU's campus... GRIDLOCK due to Natl championship football game), got my toilet unplugged and now the Sabres will score. Many times. -

Sabres Claim Tyson Jost Off Waivers; Bjork back to Rochester
Doohickie replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I think the "why" is scouting and analytics driven. I suspect those departments have ranked pretty much every player in the league (or at least those that might get waived) and given them a score based on various parameters including metrics/stats, age/experience, contract status, "personality type" with respect to the Sabres nascent culture, etc. They probably also have a similar list for what the team needs/wants at any moment in time. Some players are rated "CLAIM" and some are rated "PASS" (which is why players like Vrana, for instance, didn't draw a second glance). So before the players are even waived the Sabres know which ones to target. -
Maybe Kris-Draper-esque? He was a mainstay on the Red Wings energy line that still found time to score now and again (11 goals, 28 points per 82 games on average over a 17 season, 1,157 game career).

I think it's a result of the "standard formula" the league uses to build the schedules. For whatever reason it just comes out that way through blindly following the rules that create the schedule.

Oh... about sunshine? What's the connection to Pennsyltucky then? Or was that a red herring? The rest of you got it, but PA's references often zing right past me. -
He's not playing. I mean, who off the actual game day roster are you dumping?

Not sure what Pennsyltuckly has to do with Folsom Prison Blues. Just a generic reference to country music? -

Another example of me not knowing where the heck @PASabreFan's head is at. -
You and most of the people who commented on the tweet. I only hear snippets of the Bills radio calls. While I'm familiar with Murph's voice I don't have enough listens to have become attached to it. I thought Brown was fine.

Okay, so who moves off the current roster to make room for "the next kid"?

But what if the Eulers don't make the playoffs?

Shannon's been beating that drum for a while. So much so that he finally did a (brief) segment on it. -

Depends what you mean by playing. 😄 -
No. This is the correct answer.

I think we can also point to Comrie's time as being "early in the season" before the offense was really clicking. I hope that's the case anyway. But if those number bear out over the next several games, maybe there is something about Comrie that inhibits the Sabres offense. For example, I've noticed that UPL is effective in handling the puck- not that he just stops it and sets it up for a skater to come get it, but he's pretty good at passing it to a specific Sabres player versus just putting it up the boards and hoping for the best.
-
That's a bit unfair comparison. UPL has mostly played behind at least 5/6 of the intended D group. Before Comrie got injured, he was playing behind as few as 2 of the starting 6 D and often just 3. Hard for any goaltender to win consistently in that situation. I'm reserving judgement until I see Comrie in the same circumstances as UPL. It's also a typo; I meant to say UPL. Looks like you read what I meant anyway. You're right; the performance to date is not fair for evaluating Comrie. I'm just concerned that the team's current momentum could be killed by a goalie switch. I guess I'll just have to sit on my hands and trust Donny and Kevyn to execute it the right way.
