  1. Looks like going out to dinner was the right move. He's very, very noticeably the worst forward on the ice. Painfully so.
  2. I thought you started wacky weed again. Take another hit and embrace the mellow.
  3. So. Gonna miss a good part of this one. The wife requested the honor of my presence at dinner tonight; reservations are for the same time as game start. MUST WIN. GO SABRES. I'll check in when we get home. We'll see that Thursday. Or maybe Saturday.
  4. Not even sure what this means? Each of the prospective goalies got 2 starts in reverse order of how we rate them in games that are designed to get them ready for the coming season. Why would you possibly worry about your 'best' goalie – a player who is both young, and healthy - playing behind the type of lineup he's playing behind tonight? Isn't it a pretty typical preseason lineup, the likes of which most goalies have to play behind in pre-season? Don't you want him to be tested? He actually wants to win preseason games as if they matter.
  5. Oh shoot, you said 12:40. I watched Anders Bjork screwing around playing cornhole for nothing.
  6. Watching Kings/VGK preseason game in Salt Lake City. It was 3-2 VGK. LAK almost tied it up but the puck was picked out of the air as it went toward the goal by the VGK and the Knights skated down and scored the other way. On replay it was obvious the Kings had scored, but apparently they are doing replays during the preseason. Had it been the regular season it would have been tied 3-3 but without replay the VGK currently lead 4-2.
  7. I've been clicking over and so far I haven't seen any Von. BUST
  8. The difference is that once you figure out the cereal process, it's going to be the same until something disturbs it. The NHL is "self-disturbing." The good teams try to stay consistent but the bad teams are purposely "disturbing" their process in an effort to change outcomes.
  9. Spit roast, with an apple in its mouth.
  10. Someone needs to lock this thread before a nerd fight breaks out.
  11. Von Miller is doing everything he can.
  12. I bought a Tage jersey at the end of last season, the first active Sabres jersey I've had since Reino left. I'm pretty happy with my purchase so far.
  13. I haven't heard numbers but the team has said that ticket sales are improving, especially multi-game deals. Of course last year's sales were dreadful so the bar is pretty low. No, I don't think they did. They were just bringing in warm bodies to replace the void left by Ullmark. I think they got perhaps a little less out of Andy than they expected, but not much less.
  14. Do they have any NHL Network games this year (like last night's preseason game)? If so then you would need that to watch them. Not all Spectrum packages are the same across the country, but with basic cable and the Sports Pack for $5 more here in Texas I get NHL Network and TNT. That, plus ESPN+, gives me all the games I believe. Incidentally, one thing to know is that if you have several TVs, you only need a single cable box (required by Spectrum if you have any TV package) and you can watch the rest of your TVs using the apps in a smart TV or by using a streaming stick (Roku, Amazon Fire, etc.) If you're watching on ESPN+ you're already streaming so you can either use the Spectrum app on your smart TV, or log in with your Spectrum credentials on the ESPN app, the TNT app, etc. I think you have to watch NHL Network on the Spectrum app though.
  15. He's had an A during the preseason. I think he's going to take another big leap this year. He may not score much more but I think he's just going to be become every team's player they least want to play against. When he's moving he can just dominate, and he has the size, and finally knows how to use it, that you really can't stop him with physical play. When they need that late goal, put Tage, Skinner, Tuch, Dahlin and Power out there, with Cozens as the 6th skater.
  16. Matt Ellis was kind of one of those guys. He played 4 AHL seasons, then made the NHL for while, but then split time between the AHL and NHL for the rest of his career. In the 9 years he did play in the NHL, he averaged fewer than 40 games per year. More successful than Malone and Lerg, but never quite fully established as an NHLer. Yeah, I really really really hope he doesn't make the NHL roster.
