  1. Isn't that what we just kicked to the side of the road?
  2. Well, ol' Lindy ain't gettin' any younger.
  3. And tastes delicious both hot and iced.
  4. That would be me. I'm just not a believer in bringing players back that have had left (or been traded from) the Sabres. I think of players like Pominville who came back an empty shell of his former self.
  5. I think those horses are already out of the barn, more or less. If they regress we've got bigger issues than the salary cap.
  6. Really, until very recently I would say the same thing. To paraphrase Detroit cartoonist Dick Guindon, "Every year I want to be a Sabres fan but they won't let me." (Guindon's original quote referred to the Lions.)
  7. With the ascension of Appert to the NHL staff I'm really starting to lose faith in this regime. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss" is true on so many levels with this team. But of course, we will get fooled again. I may just jump ship and throw support behind my local market Stars going forward. I never thought I'd say that. My Sabres fandom is on life support. I'm thinking one more season before I cut bait.
  8. Well obviously they weren't going to announce Appert until the Amerks' season was done.
  9. We've been saying that for 5 years now....
  10. Amir Gulati! YES! (or is Amir Gulati a froo froo drink at Starbucks? Who can really say?)
  11. Yes, that's true, but you capitalized IF for a reason.
  12. This isn't a video game. He has three options to move Skinner off the team: Trade him, but who will take him and will he waive his no trade clause? The Sabres would need to retain a significant portion of his salary or accept cap dump of crappy players from another team which won't help the Sabres situation. Buy him out, which won't help the cap situation. Waive him a la Matt Moulson and let him play out his contract in the AHL, but again, that won't help the cap situation (as we saw with Matty Mo).
  13. 😄 Not sure I agree... at least over the long haul. I think Krebs still hasn't hit his ceiling. I can see the case for saying that right now, Jost is the better player.
  14. That only works if they fire RBA.
  15. I just love that this forum isn't the only place where he's derisively called McJesus. Another defenseman that had to mature to his ceiling while playing in the NHL. Who knew?
  16. ERod and Okposo have been more noticeable than I thought they'd be. They're pretty nice pieces to have sitting on the bench (or in the bottom 6) for when a top 6 guy goes down. In the East I'm pulling for FLA just because I want to see the ex-Sabres do well.
  17. Don't understand that chart atoll.
  18. It's not in my DNA to feel bad for the Broons.
  19. Okie's getting a lot of ice time with Reino out for repairs.
  20. The Broons are the most lug-headed team in the playoffs.
  21. Okposo sets up Barkov for the go-ahead goal.
  22. I hope they lose this game. 😄
