We had a very low key Thanksgiving. We had six of us: me, my wife, our two sons, our daughter-in-law and my son's best friend (whose family is Jehovah Witness and don't celebrate holidays... he's had a standing invitation from us for years). Basic turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, etc. Oddly, no pie this year, but three wonderful cheesecakes: chocolate marble, apple strudel and dragonfruit. My wife did virtually the cooking except for the gravy. I do the gravy every year. She was up early cooking. I'm up late cleaning. Just loaded the third and final load into the dishwasher and cleaned the countertops and now it's time for bed.

It is 8 pm per the ESPN+ app (showing 7 pm and I'm CT). There are a lot of games tomorrow; I think they are just spreading them out.

If that was Tage it would have been a dribbler that got in but took it's sweet time. Quinn fired it in from a lousy angle with authority. He doesn't know how to take it easy. I keep thinking about that.

It's because Cozens has (by far) more NHL experience.

I think what the Sabres end up with is Line 1 and 1a.

I made my prediction (which I didn't really believe myself at the time) after the move to center. When we got him? Ugh.

Remember when we'd be yelling at him during games about trying to stickhandle and toe drag around opposing players? I guess we were wrong.

I say yes. Part of what allows them to skate with confidence is knowing the D is doing their job. With both Joki and Muel back it's no longer a concern. I will also point out that Muel *does* contribute in the offensive zone. I noticed him going in for deep pinches at least a half dozen times. He has a very good sense of when to go and when to fall back.

I think we're in alignment: See posts I made during the game: If for no other reason, this makes UPL our starter for sure. ....and from the Jack Quinn thread.... I think that whole line is just going to get better and better as the season wears on. You can point to the holes and the lack of depth, and yes those are concerns. But the growth of this line is really what will drive the prospects of this team. I think they were so into the game it didn't even occur to them to be tired.

I was going to mention: There was NO letdown in the third; very surprising for a team who played the night before.

I think Bryson is a good enough 6/7D. The problem is that with the losses of Boosh, Muel and Joki he was having to play heavy top 4 minutes and that was simply too much to ask of him. I had a higher opinion of him last year but at this point I think he's in JAG territory. I think the NJ game is HUGE. If the Sabres win that game they may be on their way back to relevance.

I will say: Our depth can handle the loss of Bryson more readily then the loss of Muel or Joki. Looking forward to some Fitzgerald or even Clague.

I would say the Sabres passing wasn't that good to be honest, BUT they passed decisively and adjusted to the passes instead of just doing fly-bys. Defensively, there were periods where they gave the Blues too much respect but other times when they didn't give them a millimeter.
