  1. I'm not surprised but I am very disappointed.
  2. Christmas dinner: homemade Polish sausage from my cousin in Lackawanna, pierogies from the Polish grocery in Plano, TX, given to me by my son, and Zombie Crack milk stout aged in bourbon barrels with pecans from my favorite craft brewer.
  3. He wasn't supposed to even go there, if you recall. But yeah you're right.
  4. I think they'll go to Rochester tomorrow night and fly from there. (The Bills flew back through ROC)
  5. Crazy. Just for yucks I looked up how long it takes to go the 300 miles to Columbus by train: 16 HOURS. The passenger rail system is totally broken.
  6. My 61st Christmas is quite an odd one. My wife is up north with her parents who needed some looking after. As a result we will be celebrating Christmas in a few days upon her return. That being the case, my son and daughter-in-law have plans to spend the day with friends. My other son, who lives with us, is working a twelve hour shift and will be home in a couple hours. So here I am sitting at home absolutely alone with 4 snoozing animals (3 dogs and a cat). Peace on Earth.
  7. My stepdad was in the hospital for 10 days and just came home before the storm hit. I'm glad the storm didn't hit when he got sick. From what I've heard everyone back home is hanging in there. Did you see any cold temps from the storm @GASabresIUFAN? We got down to 11 Thursday night and managed to keep our pipes from freezing. We should be back up above freezing tomorrow and it will warm up pretty nicely in the 60s in the next few days.
  8. The Dolphins are irrelevant now. The Bills won the division today. But I appreciate the thought.
  9. Yeah, that's what we were saying at the Bills Backers Bar.
  10. Their first drive is often times their worst. They make adjustments once they see what the other team is doing.
  11. They either work to provide a perfect picture or they suck. There's very little in between. I have a smart TV in my man cave and watch the games streaming Spectrum to it over WiFi. The Spectrum app has been problematic and so I switch over to an antenna for local programming. All the locals come in pretty well except Channel 8 (ABC). I think it's the farthest station from me. I usually works but sometimes it pixelates on me.
  12. He's good. He's got Rudolph. So this. THIS. Is the only thing that can distract you from the Sabres' goaltendeer and defensman deficiencies? 😉
  13. The back to the Avs game: Their power play and the way they played with the goalie pulled was to crank low percentage shots toward the net and hope for a tip-in or a rebound. That's generally not the way the Sabres play in those situation. Colorado's scheme probably generates more shots but not necessarily more goals. But KO and Power don't have a large percentage of the shots either.
  14. I'm posting from my Christmas present. My son told my wife what to order and he put it together: My new computer. The old one was about 8 years old. Overdue. The worst aspect was video playback. Youtube, streaming, Twitter, it was all getting pretty choppy. But now I have to set everything up on the new 'puter.
  15. Oh I remember the drifts. Crazy.
  16. On the one hand, On the other (from the same Wiki article), ...which is what I remember. I have to wonder if the "100 in" was drifted snow.
  17. I think that's the point of the thread: The stat doesn't reflect reality very well; you have to take other factors into consideration.
  18. No it doesn't. You're not understanding xgf correctly. Okay then, Mr. Smartypants, what does it suggest, if not that Tage should be a negative player?
  19. That's for the coaches to worry about. I just want to see wins.
  20. Sounds like the Blizzard of '77 with MOAR SNO
  21. Ugh, so everything is wet and *then* it's getting frozen? That's nasty. Good luck, Buffalo peeps. Here in Texas it's just the cold... and the fact that our infrastructure isn't built for it. Frozen pipes are the biggest concern. I go through last night okay, the coldest night of the front. This, however, is just frightening, and it's only just starting. Stay safe, Buffalo peeps!
  22. We got down to 11 overnight in Fort worth. I'm glad we didn't get any snow. There was a hard frost though and while streets are okay, our rear deck is a bit slippery. I expect that even without temps going above freezing the sun will take care of that.
