  1. Not sure what you're referring to, but the Canadians call their version of the F-18 the CF-18.
  2. It is, in fact, an F-18, and not just any F-18, it's a CF-18 (C = Canadian), the kind in the Jets' logo.
  3. I know. It's Be Nice to Inky Day though so I didn't want to argue with him.
  4. Oh that's the same crash, not just an F-18, but a CF-18.
  5. Yeah... I can't argue that. Maybe I jinxed him by having the wrong meme.
  6. Not at the NHL level, no. Harsh. And probably true. In lighter news,
  7. Actually I thought it was when I first posted it, but the recent airshow mishap I thought that was from, was a different aircraft. I don't think anything looks that much like an F-18 except an F-18.

  9. Yeah, that's where George Martin came in. They didn't have training in music theory, didn't understand the notation, but they had an innate feel for it. Here's a YouTube video that looks into it.
  10. I didn't say they were retired; in fact I said the opposite- "it will be some time before .... the F-18 is fully retired"
  11. Don't get me wrong, he's my favorite Beatle. I like the music he's done since then. He was "home grown" as a drummer and played more by feel than by reading the music. I heard an interview where he said he couldn't really read music, so the band would have to say stuff like "play bum-bum-BAA at this point of the song" or whatever and upon playing something once he could duplicate it. But it was just seat-of-the-pants practical ability and very little training as such.
  12. I wonder if, now that the Canadian government has selected the F-35 for purchase, the Jets will update their logo to replace the F-18 with an F-35? It will be some years before the F-35 is in the fleet and the F-18 is fully retired, so probably premature to speculate.
  13. Yeah, I read about that. What's up with that???
  14. I always look at Ringo in these pictures and wonder if he's thinking, "Whatever, guys. I'm just here for the ride and to keep time."
  15. If UPI is back in the net I bet they win. If he allows 8 goals the Sabres will score 9.
  16. Never got a chance to use this one in a game:
  17. Apparently there is no official NHL definition of the term though.
  18. As I recall it's something like "physical contact resulting in a change of puck possession." When I heard the bit about possession I was surprised.
  19. Maybe after the season. There are still a few guys who haven't scored that I haven't revealed yet.
