Sabres announce Ryan Johnson signs 2 year ELC (Finally)

You mean they won't trade a first round pick for a second rate goalie with personal problems? -

Aside from the Ullmark saga (which I can attribute to Kevyn being perhaps a bit to nice and naive), the organization has really been efficiently and competently run under Adams. Once Jack was moved, all the drama has ceased. I'd feel better with a move on goalie and a top 4 D, but really the team has very few holes compared to past GM regimes. I think it's another feather in the Sabres cap but whether he signed or not doesn't really move my needle that much. Maybe Johnson will turn out bigger than I imagine. -

Not me. I don't it had anything to do with his competitiveness. -

I've been buckling as long as I can remember. I ordered and added the optional shoulder harnesses on the '72 Dodge Dart I had in the '80s.

They offered him the same bonus as Okposo: an extra $500k if the Sabres win the Cup. 😉

If Reino can do it, the Sabres can do it.

I agree with that take. Even though Kevyn's plan was to move on from the tank fruit, he was instructed in his first offseason as GM to make it work with Eichel. I think we all thought the moves to bring in Hall and Staal and even Lazar & Eakin were sound hockey moves and also (especially with Hall) Kevyn was bringing in the players that Krueger wanted to coach. Terry named him GM; I suspect Kevyn laid out his grand plan to turn the roster over to Terry but Terry felt the team was close to being a playoff team and with the infusion of the right veteran players they could get there. It might have worked too if Jack didn't have the problems with his neck. But when the wheels did fall off, Kevyn got the nod from Terry to carry out his plan. It might not be 100% how it went down, but what we saw seems to fit with that sequence of events.

Further supporting the notion that Kevyn wanted to blow it all up right from the start was that he extended Reino for only one year. To me that was the first tangible indication that Kevyn wanted to move the Eichel era core out for new assets.

I rather enjoy that.

Does it matter? It was not germane to the discussion.

Well maybe not attack as such, but a comment about the poster, not what was posted.

If only I had ANY picture quality! Sheez.

Depends. What kind of beer?

When all else fails, resort to ad hominem attacks, eh?

I just see Rousek's game as more in line with a 4th line role. He may end up higher than that but he seems to play sound defense.

I posted something to Reddit for the first time in a very long time. How long you ask? My username there is Neuvirths_Glove

So how many Moscow Mules will we end up with?

The C really doesn't drive winning or losing. Personally I wouldn't mind Okposo "presenting" the C to another player at the end of training camp. I think he'd still be a leader on the team whether he has an A or a C or no letter at all. But once the season starts, barring a season-ending injury, he should keep the C.

Rousek on the other hand....

He didn't say that. He said you have trouble composing a post and I don't see the lie. But then again this is a message forum, not the New York Times.

I can't wait to see Mitts in the playoffs. I think he will thrive in those conditions.

He would, but he has hands of stone. He misses 100% of shots he doesn't get on net. 😛
