  1. He's a little more eager to throw the body around than Reino though.
  2. Rangers with their best start in franchise history, and the second best record in baseball. Nice.
  3. He let in a softee for sure.
  4. That's actually a good point. Air bags are designed to be used in conjunction with seatbelts, not instead of. You're likely to fare much worse with airbags alone. In Texas that starts at age 79.
  5. True story: My 2005 model Hyundai had a physical chime for the seatbelt. I found it and unplugged it. When I gave the car to my son to drive I plugged it back in 😄 No no no.... that would be "Live Free AND Die"
  6. I was just saying your take seemed overly complicated. And I like posting conspiracy guy. I think he's funny.
  7. Pick your headline: "Tuch Powers His Way To A Goal" -or- "USA Scores After Peterka's Defensive Lapse"
  8. A defensive defenseman? Looks like the Sabres think they've brought in an offensive dynamo 😉
  9. I know but really I think most people were taking a measured approach. Some people are quick to judge a situation and react to it, there are a few on this forum, but really I think most people were fairly even tempered in their posts about Johnson.
  10. Why? It's really none of our bidness.
  11. Waiting for a logical explanation? Madness! I didn't say he was dead; I said I was okay with however it turned out. In short, yes.
  12. He signed just after he graduated. That's the timeline that mattered to him. There's no crazy conspiracy theory; stand down.
  13. I just looked him up, as I'd never heard of him. He was wearing the C for NCAA National Champion Quinnipiac last month. Sounds like a quality acquisition.
  14. This is the one aspect of Kevyn that's kind of a wildcard. Based on his past experience as a player and agent, I think he has a lot of connections around the league and has very good knowledge about how things work behind the scenes. If the Johnson signing is another case of that, color me impressed. I think being a "hockey guy" is about knowledge, yes, but it's also about cultivating relationships and Kevyn seems to be very good at that.
  15. You mean they won't trade a first round pick for a second rate goalie with personal problems?
  16. Aside from the Ullmark saga (which I can attribute to Kevyn being perhaps a bit to nice and naive), the organization has really been efficiently and competently run under Adams. Once Jack was moved, all the drama has ceased. I'd feel better with a move on goalie and a top 4 D, but really the team has very few holes compared to past GM regimes. I think it's another feather in the Sabres cap but whether he signed or not doesn't really move my needle that much. Maybe Johnson will turn out bigger than I imagine.
  17. Not me. I don't it had anything to do with his competitiveness.
  18. I've been buckling as long as I can remember. I ordered and added the optional shoulder harnesses on the '72 Dodge Dart I had in the '80s.
  19. They offered him the same bonus as Okposo: an extra $500k if the Sabres win the Cup. 😉
  20. If Reino can do it, the Sabres can do it.
  21. I agree with that take. Even though Kevyn's plan was to move on from the tank fruit, he was instructed in his first offseason as GM to make it work with Eichel. I think we all thought the moves to bring in Hall and Staal and even Lazar & Eakin were sound hockey moves and also (especially with Hall) Kevyn was bringing in the players that Krueger wanted to coach. Terry named him GM; I suspect Kevyn laid out his grand plan to turn the roster over to Terry but Terry felt the team was close to being a playoff team and with the infusion of the right veteran players they could get there. It might have worked too if Jack didn't have the problems with his neck. But when the wheels did fall off, Kevyn got the nod from Terry to carry out his plan. It might not be 100% how it went down, but what we saw seems to fit with that sequence of events.
  22. Further supporting the notion that Kevyn wanted to blow it all up right from the start was that he extended Reino for only one year. To me that was the first tangible indication that Kevyn wanted to move the Eichel era core out for new assets.
  23. I rather enjoy that.
  24. Does it matter? It was not germane to the discussion.
