  1. It's couched as a "benefits of subscribing" but everyone who's watching it is already subscribed.
  2. Why does ESPN+ run ads for ESPN+ before the game starts on ESPN+, which you can only watch if you've already subscribed to ESPN+?
  3. Attending to some butcher block details. I put a coat of oil finish on last night, will do another tonight. I made an appointment with the plumber to come out and connect the sink on Friday.... then the kitchen will be functional again! Still to do after that on Phase I: Finish putting the doors, drawers and shelves into the cabinets Adjust all doors and drawer fronts so that they're straight Install toe kicks and other trim items Prime/seal the backsplash area Put up the tile backsplash (considering hiring that out) Phase II (replace the corner pantry cabinet at the other end of the room): Remove the corner pantry cabinet Repair drywall as necessary and paint Extend plank floor to area where pantry cabinet sits Move the electrical switch and plug Put up the IKEA cabinets Phase II should be a small fraction of the effort of Phase I
  4. I think his shot at Coach of the Year increases as the Sabres playoff chances increase.
  5. I think we're seeing a preview of Playoff Mitts. I meant to comment last night that, upon looking at the replay and focusing on Casey rather than Tuch, he did a very good job of finding the "quiet spot" in front of the net. That's a goal scorer's move.
  6. He said basically the same thing in his postgame presser... with some weasel words (mentioned fatigue, etc.)
  7. It's a legitimate beef. It's also rarely enforced. He and the puck were moving laterally from the boards toward the goal, but his last deke before his shot both his feet and the puck ended up a little further from the goal line than they were before the deke. If you look at the vector distance to, say, the middle of the front of the goal though, because of his lateral movement you could say he was still moving "toward" the goal.
  8. With 5 games still to play I think they will make it: Does anyone know how were gonna play Columbus 3 times concurrently?
  9. The article I cited previously, pointed out downsides to college players coming out of college and burning a year. Basically it said that if a player still needs development, the team is less likely to invest in that development if they have less time to develop him, and cited a few examples of college players who never were able to make the transition to the NHL. (If Johnson was 22 already this would be more of a concern because players who sign at 22 only get 2 years on their ELC, not three. Burn the first year and they go RFA after a year; if the team still isn't sure what they've got they're less likely to give them that second contract.)
  10. fify. Frankly, like all ex-Sabres I don't really care too much about their careers once they're gone. And I have a Reino jersey. Not every goal scorer gets a BOOM!!! when they score, but Mitts does.
  11. If he keeps doing this, I'm going to have to like him. I don't think he will. However, I hope he does, and I am willing to like him in return.
  12. If you're going to play a goalie back to back, one that just came out of college and used to playing consecutive games over a weekend is your best bet.
  13. I think this is Playoff Mitts. I'm pretty sure this is Playoff Mitts.
