  1. Pro tip: Don't put that spray can of expanding foam in the bottom of your tool tote.
  2. fify There were also reports that Eichel was about to be traded to Calgary before VGK pulled the trigger. You hear all kinds of "reports" that aren't true, even if the people reporting them think they are.
  3. That's true; fixies are passé. Gravel grinders are where it's at these days.
  4. This here Ryan Johnson thread seems perfectly appropriate to discuss Linus Ullmark's exit from the club.
  5. I never saw a direct quote that said that was the case.
  6. I believe that happened around 1980.
  7. I'm gonna say ejection and hitting a stationary object.
  8. Don't get me started about people who use high beams for no good reason.
  9. Did you read my post? It was about more than just the money. It was about playing on a contender. Remember also that when he left the team they had just finished last in the Covid-spawned Division of Doom as well as dead last in the league.
  10. Joki's offseason plan? Engagement. Meet Henri and Henrietta.
  11. l wouldn't want him back at this point, but I have nothing against him getting the best deal for him, and playing on a top contender was part of the package he chose. You can't really blame him can you?
  12. That right there is 123% speculation on your part.
  13. Let me guess, the hipsters on their fixies hang out there? Wild Ass Guess
  14. ...until an American becomes a star on the world soccer stage. That's what it will take. The other thing to consider is that even if it's second rate, soccer is far more popular in the states with large hispanic populations. We have a local team, the Fort Worth Vaqueros, and their boosters/fans are pretty rabid. They also started a Junior Vaqueros the following year, putting their roots even deeper into the community. Not sure if this is a thing in WNY, but a lot of bars and craft brewers open early on the weekends to host soccer watching parties for the Euro matches, and they're a pretty big draw. For a lot of people they don't know much about soccer; they just want a beer at 9 am on Sunday (and due to a law passed during Covid that's now possible in Texas). Soccer is preferred by a lot of the Millennials and younger around here because it's "anti-establishment" and different from what their parents follow. I know a lot of people who sneer at "sports ball" (NFL/NBA/MLB) but follow soccer. It's got that hipster ethos of "I was a soccer fan before it was cool." I'm not sure if it's like that outside of Texas, but yeah, soccer is pretty popular here. I personally find it pretty boring to watch on TV, but the soccer team where my wife teaches got several rounds into the playoffs and I went to a couple games; it's a lot more fun to watch in person.
  15. It's a seven game series. They're not dead yet. Sounds like Brian Duff has been doing the color on the broadcasts for the playoffs.
  16. So that's Duff doing the color commentary, right? Who does it during the season when Duff is in the Sabres studio?
  17. They played together in the AHL. JJP and Quinn might be best with Cozens but playing them with Krebs is also a viable option.
  18. Like this: https://www.axios.com/2023/05/27/mls-franchise-expansion-san-diego I don't see how the number of years it takes to get to 30 teams leads to the conclusion they reach. It's an amazingly short article; more like a caption for the graphic. That's it. That's the whole article.
