  1. I like Schwabl's in West Seneca. Close to my mom's house. Speaking of mom.... The guy with us is Frank, mom's mate for the last 20+ years. They do pretty good for 92 and 87.
  2. Fun game to watch. In the end, we were killed by the youth- the flukey goal deflected (or at least screened) by Power, and Benson taking the late stupid penalty.
  3. Huh. Comrie keeps his pet mouse with him, in his helmet.
  4. Those are some crazy fast hands! 😮
  5. I'm not interested in how that looked at toll.
  6. Well the one in the front is flash fried....
  7. I'm back from dinner. Let's go Buffalo!
  8. Chef's is another thing that was around when I lived in Buffalo but we never went. There were too many good Italian restaurants in Cheektowaga. Roma's (mentioned upthread) was one- everything there was homemade (I know, because when I worked there, I made it). A lot of people liked Baraci's/Baracini's on Union Road. And there were others. My mom's family is from Lackawanna and I still have family there; we've been to Ilio DiPaolo's (or however it's spelled) and I remember that being pretty good too.
  9. Whereabouts? I grew up near U-Crest Firehall, OLHC, Airport Plaza.
  10. Our local Buffalo bar here in Fort Worth "imports" Sahlens from Buffalo. When the Bills came to play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving 2019, Buffalo Bros grilled hundreds of Sahlens at the tailgate party and gave them away to Bills fans. It was awesome.
  11. I would still prefer Cozens and Mitts swapped. Maybe Donny Meatballs feels this will lift Cozens up. I haven't heard about any roster moves.... has Levi been sent down to Rochester on paper?
  12. I don't remember ever having sponge candy growing up. I like it, we just never got it. Was it a "thing" prior to 1980? Honestly asking. Another thing I know existed but I never heard of it was Chiavetta's BBQ Chicken. I may very well have had some at some point, but it wasn't branded then I don't think as it is now. Need to add both of these to my list.
  13. I don't really remember the Bills AFL championship, but I *do* remember going to the Rockpile. My dad had season tix and I went to a few games there. My most vivid memory of the place was having to pee in a urinal trough, shoulder-to-shoulder with a crowd.... well for me it was shoulder-to-elbow since I was only, like 8 years old. After Rich Stadium was built, I did go to a number of Bisons games in the Rockpile.
  14. You're the second one to mention this. I watch the Bills games at a DFW Bills Backers Bar and it never occurred to me that Bills Mafia was a negative term, perhaps because it's largely embraced by the Bills Backers group I hang with. I even have DFW Bills Mafia t-shirt. You're right though.... the term Bills Mafia is more recent than my last residency in Buffalo.
  15. Oof. You had one job. Yeah, in Dallas they yell out STARS in the Star Spangled Banner.
  16. Ha. I fixed it before I read this 😄
