  1. And yet, ...and it's not DeBrincat. I think if it's perceived that Kevyn underpays his top players it could influence someone like Owen Power to get to UFA as quickly as possible and get his (full) payday elsewhere.
  2. Do you think it is a potential downside if Kevyn consistently signs players to "team friendly" contracts? On the one hand, he's better able to keep the team together, but on the other, at some point these players (and the NHLPA) will start to say he's undervaluing assets and get NHLPA action against him or just kind of start feel like they're Kevyn's patsies and become discontented. Thoughts?
  3. That would be good. Probably a good idea to have an AHL coach who speaks Eurotrash.
  4. Good to get a look into his thoughts. I think he will be a key piece in the future if he keeps working.
  5. Zadina's already signed with the Sharks.
  6. But he does. He has hundreds of jerseys and I suspect that by wearing them on his videos he writes them off on his taxes as a business expense. Tax issues aside, he picks an appropriate jersey for all of his videos. This is another case of you being purposefully obtuse.
  7. You have a good thought here: It's not a given that the first line is Skins-Tage-Tuch. A lot of people assume it will be but there are lots of other pieces to try out. I remember for a while they rolled out Greenway-Cozens-Thompson. If Greenway can keep up talent-wise, that line could not only be an offensive juggernaut, it would also be physically intimidating to play against. I could see them grinding down opposing lines as the game went on. I would also like to see Donny do a bit more line juggling: After wearing down the other team with that combo, slide Tage up to 1C late in the game with Tuch and Skins late in the game. If they're defending a lead, that group could put the nail in the coffin since they'd be such a threat on the rush.
  8. Probably a lot of overlap with the first video but... I remember when Skinner was the one who always scored against us. That's why I was so happy we got him.
  9. Maybe you missed it, but they've already walked away from Zadina, waived him and terminated his contract. He didn't fight it. And Kubalik was moved in the DeBrincat trade.
  10. No but in the end the ultimate stat is wins and losses. UPL was not holding the Sabres back.
  11. But he does give the perspective of what the rest of the league thinks of the team.
  12. He's a fan of HOCKEY. He has an extensive collection which includes several jerseys from each team. He's not going to wear a NJ Devils jersey (which he has several of) if he's talking about the Sabres. Of course.
  13. Look in the background- he has an extensive jersey collection and wears them in the videos. If he's talking Sabtes of course he will wear Sabres garb.
  14. I just saw that. My first reaction was favorable and then I realized Peca got away. Blergh.
  15. He is a hockey fan, he is not a Sabres fan. He gives a perspective of how other fan bases view the Sabres.
  16. It's one thing to make grammatical errors on a message forum. It's something else when you're trying to monetize that and call yourself a professional writer. Professionals use editors. I disagree with this point (although I know some Sabrespacers agree with it): Mitts is basically a top-6 player playing on the third line. He was tapped to be 1C in October 2021 before getting injured in the first game, opening the door for Tage. The emergence of Tage, though, doesn't take away from what Mittelstadt provides. As a play maker, he makes the 3rd line more dangerous. But as we saw last year he can also step in as C on a top line with little or not drop off for that line. I mean this literally when I say trading Casey Mittelstadt could cost the Sabres a playoff berth. I don't think the writer understands that. Let the record state that I never said this article should not have been linked, by the way. I'm just picking on the "Writer's" grammar.
  17. For someone who calls themselves The Hockey Writers, you would think they would, you know, write better. "As things currently sit, Buffalo’s defensive core is Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, Mattias Samuelsson, Henri Jokijarju, Ilya Lyubushkin, Jacob Bryson, Riley Stillman, and Kale Clague." The word he's looking for is corps. Defensive corps. Corps means a body of people. Core means the central part. One might say that Dahlin and Power are core of the defensive corps. But don't call everyone through Clague our core defensemen.
  18. Anyway, I watch a lot of his videos. During the season he literally previews and reviews every single game, and watches as much action from as many games as he can. And he puts out other material (such as a retrospective of Craig Anderson's career last year) during the season. Shanon has no special access to information, just what a normal fan sees, and it's interesting to me to see his takes on the Sabres versus what you hear in the echo chamber of the fan base.
  19. What happened to the earlier thread about this video?
