  1. Do you know that this wasn't the case with the Roth hiring?
  2. Nope, I guess not. I have personally seen managers who were very effective at managing and were stellar employees who got caught with their pants down with a secretary in a conference room. Yes, you have to show someone like that to the door, but no, until he was caught at it there was no indication that he had issues along those lines. I'm not about to hold TPegs responsible for another man's personal failings.
  3. But there is no indication he was performing poorly at his job. The affair and job performance are two unrelated items. He should have known Roth would have an affair? HOW?
  4. That's truly what makes that series great.
  5. Devon Levi is the starter. Backup is either Ukka Pekka Luukkonen or Eric Comrie; both are on the roster still.
  6. Right. I get that. But if there's no previous indication that Roth (for instance) has exercised poor judgment in the past, why is it Terry's fault? HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN seems to be the argument. The truth is, he didn't and when he found out he purged the problem.
  7. I still don't know how you can blame Terry for someone else not being able to keep his schlong in his pants.
  8. I don't get the "This is all Terry's fault" conclusion many people are ending up at. A married couple that were friends of mine split up because because he had an affair. Does the fact that he had an affair several years after I befriended them somehow reflect on my character? This is basically what the people blaming Terry are doing- assigning blame to Terry for something he had no knowledge of when he hired Roth.
  9. Not as serious as the regular season ones. 😄
  10. What do you want him to do? Ask the interviewee if they have affairs with people in the office? Regardless of what the answer really is, the response will be no, of course not. Do you expect TPegs to be clairvoyant?
  11. If that's the case, the firings were exactly the right thing to do in order to show the expected level of moral character.
  12. Quite possibly not. It's not a huge corporation with tens of thousands of employees. TPegs may think that it's given that everyone he hires would have the same morals more or less that he does.
  13. Possible but at some point each will plateau and I think it's a crap shoot as to who plateaus at a higher level.
  14. Don't worry. By then the cap will be up to $172 million. It's truly the only way to avoid a cap crunch. I don't know but that's for another thread.
  15. Can he? Yes. Will he? Probably once or twice he'll make a big splash at the deadline or in FA. But his style is to make incremental, steady improvements, the kinds of acquisitions that the league will barely notice, but they will make the team better both in the short term and over the long haul.
  16. To be honest, Power at 19 played at least as good as Dahlin at 21. Dahlin will be ahead Power probably for most of their careers but only because Dahlin is older. Power and Dahlin with both get better and better until they plateau and then in my mind it's a toss-up in terms of who will have the higher ceiling.
  17. Counting Muel they now have 5 long term contracts. If one misses and the other 4 work out, I'd say Kevyn is ahead of the game.
  18. Oh I think he will, but he's gonna have to. If the Sabres win the Cup in the next two years it won't be necessary. But if they plateau that will be the next step in The Plan.
  19. I think this is a very team friendly deal (or it will be in a coupla years). He'd command a much higher cap hit after a bridge deal.
