  1. Just got a chance to see the replay of the JJP goal. Man he's gonna be a good one for this team.
  2. I was a fan of keeping the d but it always seemed to jump around when I typed Redinhart.
  3. Corn versus flour: Falls apart - Holds together Gluten free - Glutenous Wonderful corn flavor - Wonderful flour flavor Cheap (less than a penny apiece) - Pricey (incurs extra charge at most taco trucks) But flour tortillas are legit Mexican. There is a tortilleria near my house that cranks out flour tortillas by the hundreds. I've had breakfast burritos there and half the attraction is the intoxicating smell of fresh cooked flour tortillas that are wrapped in paper while still warm and put into coolers to keep them warm. While eating at a table I watch as people from local restaurants and food trucks come in and take a cooler or two full of those great flour tortillas and will later server them, still warm, to their customers.
  4. I see this as a positive. I think Olofsson is capable of playing a more defensive role; this forces him to focus on it. It will help him develop a more complete game.
  5. The one thing that a lot of people are missing is that, yeah, you can force the PK to open up when playing with the puck behind the net, but when the puck is back there it's a limited area and easier for a defender to dislodge the puck and interrupt possession. If it were all positive, everyone would do it that way all the time. I agree with what others said though: If you're going to control it behind the net, Mitts is probably the guy to do that. If Skinner could turn off his Shoot First switch, I think he could do well back there too.
  6. There's just a string of rain stretching from Texas to Iowa that's very slow moving.
  7. Just saw the weather report: Some areas have gotten over TEN INCHES of rain today. We've gotten about 3" with probably another 3" by dawn.
  8. Lots of rain tonight. They said we may get as much as 7 inches by dawn. Crazy.
  9. Mostly yes, but I think they've been trying some different tactics, using the bumper more, working on deflections, etc.
  10. If this is the intent, I think the right thing to do is to send someone down to Rochester. Only one of the three is waive exempt. Sorry, Devon. But I also expect that won't last indefinitely and he will be back up, either because he's killing it in the AHL, because one of UPL or Comrie gets hurt, or because Kevyn finally gets a good return for one of them. And if one of Comrie or UPL get hurt, Kevyn will look smart for hanging on to both of them.
  11. I'd say the last 5 minutes were more about the Sabres playing a high-pressure defense most of the night but losing their legs at the end due to being on the second game of a back-to-back.
  12. At 31, Skinner hasn't lost a step yet, but because he broke into the league when he was 18 he has very, very deep veteran experience. His skating and scoring ability are both way up there, but he also has experience and hockey sense by the boatload. He also is very good at getting under opponents' skins. And that combination of attributes makes him, in many games, the best player on the ice.
  13. I was thinking about this: This was the second half of a back to back. They played high pressure hockey most of the night. Late in the third the problem was they were losing their legs. That's why you run up the score while you can. I think the vibes are fine.
