I think with past GMs this was the case... that there was a tension between Terry and the GM. I get the sense now that Kevyn is more in sync with Terry than any previous GM.

I think it's way too early to pass judgment on either prospect. Kulich has the benefit of playing in Rochester which is getting ready for Buffalo Savoie missed camp due to injury and the only reason he remained with the big club was to try to replace that lost time with NHL practices and a 3:55 cuppa coffee in the NHL. I think Savoie will tear it up in the AHL... eventually but Kulich is doing it now. That doesn't mean Kulich has the higher ceiling; it means that he's following a different development path.

I think the problem isn't so much Granato as it is Kevyn. He hung onto VO, he re-signed KO, and the result is two roster spots filled ineffectively when there is talent on the farm (I don't mean green prospects like Benson/Savoie, but players who have 2, 3 years in Rochester that could move up and contribute). I'll give Kevyn an A on defense, a C+ on goalie, but so far he's rocking a D in the forward ranks.
