  1. "Out of pocket" to me roughly means that I will be unavailable: "I will be out of pocket while I'm on vacation." Although I also know @French Collection's definition. The meaning of the phrase is contextually based.
  2. I’m not trying to take this personally because I live in Rochester, but have you been to Grand Rapids lol
  3. Overcome By Events. Sorry, a common acronym where I work. I forget not everyone knows it. (In other words, it's in the past and doesn't matter anymore)
  4. Well there is a weasel word in there (likely) so I'm sure it's not set in stone.
  5. Finally! Someone who acknowledges my ass holiness. No, nothing wrong, just got caught up in too many losing arguments at once and that put me in a foul mood. I blame Sabrespace.
  6. I have argued with you in a long while.
  7. Yes I know the Kane stuff is OBE. Benson. Look at the Benson stuff.
  8. Perhaps. I hope you're wrong. I've said it previously: I love him as 3C (assuming Cozens is 2C and Tage is 1C), and for the precise reason we're seeing right now: When you lose a top center you bump him up and the top line keeps producing. Also, he is probably our most physical center. Tage is huge but he uses his size with finesse. Cozens plays a physical game in terms of initiating hits, but Casey is able to withstand the checks of opponents and still making high quality plays, and to me that's a more valuable skill.
  9. Our ol' pal Jimmey Vesey scores for the Rangers to put them ahead of the Red Wings 3-2 with less than 5 minutes left in the game. Good boy. And later in the broadcast they showed UPL's paddle save on Vesey Monday. 😉 And that's your game winner; "Red Wings, we're comin' for ya!"
  10. Yeah but he revels in it.
  11. Laine scored a gorgeous goal for Columbus against Montreal just now. Burst of speed gave him a breakway and he shaked and baked Montembeault in close before tucking it in. Despite opening the scoring there, he is now a -1 in a 2-2 game.
  12. Where does Biro fit? 13F? Right now I think he might be above Savoie, Kulich and Rosen from an NHL-ready standpoint although I admit that could change by next summer. If you do trade for a veteran forward, perhaps one or two of Biro, Savoie, Kulich and Rosen get moved.
  13. Agree, but I also think this might be a very effective shutdown line. Mitts is perhaps our best 2-way forward, Benson, though small, has a great nose for backchecking, and Greenway is effective on the PK. I could see them shutting down opposing lines.
  14. See, I don't bemoan that kind of stuff. You do your scouting, you pick your guy. Sometimes you get your guy, sometimes you don't. You just can't predict with certainty who will excel in the NHL.
  15. I suspect that UPL meshes with the style the Sabres are playing right now, while Levi actually doesn't, and that's the difference. Anyway, let Levi get reps in the AHL and we'll see what develops.
  16. Assuming Greenway does, in fact, play, I guess that will mean Jost or Krebs to the pressbox.
  17. I said to myself, "Self..." (and I knew was me because I recognized my voice and I was wearing my underwear) "...I wonder how Tage and Quinner are doing." Thanks for the report.
  18. Amazing isn't it? At this point I think it won't be long until he surpasses Joki or Muel in the Top Four. I also think the competition is driving better play from all the defensemen.
  19. So the shoe has dropped. I suppose a cup of coffee in the NHL gives these guys an idea of what they need to work on and probably sends the signal that they need to work harder at the NHL level... and if the Amerks are lucky they'll try to play at that higher level in Rochester.
  20. Right, and then I think Reino got a two-year bridge from JBot and a one-year deal from Kevyn (if I recall correctly), and that one-year deal in my mind was (in retrospect) Kevyn's first tangible sign that he wanted to tear it down. Anyway, those two contracts sent the message that Reino was not part of the Sabres' long term plan and brought him to the place where he wanted to be traded. Maybe a heart-to-heart somehow cleared that up but given where the Sabres were going then I find it hard to believe Kevyn patched any fences with Reino at that moment in time. If I have that totally wrong and he does come back, I think all incorrect spellings of Reinhart would autocorrect Pomminstein style to REINMONSTER or something.
  21. I didn't hear about the heart-to-heart. Personally, *I* was disappointed he wasn't part of the solution, and figured that any desire to bring him back would be projection on my part. I thought he was traded because he told Kevyn he *wouldn't* be signing another contract with the Sabres. Maybe the heart-to-heart cleared the air idk.
