  1. No, it really didn't even start out well. It started out with the Sabres hanging on. Despite shots being even early, the Sabres never looked dangerous in this one.
  2. Sorry, Casey, you don't warrant the animated gif this time.
  3. These Sabres don't even belong in the same league with the Canes.
  4. It was 0-0 with shots on goal at 6-6. It ended up 2-0 CAR with SOG at 14-8.
  5. I think a case could be made that Skinner is the best forward on the Sabres. Part of that equation is that the best ability is availability. He misses very few games to injury (as opposed to Tage, Quinn and Tuch), and is more savvy with his years of experience than younger players like Cozens, Quinn, Benson and JJP. I think Mitts might also challenge for best forward, but in a different way than Skinny. Skinner (still) plays with high end talent, but is also very cagey in terms of knowing what he can get away with and drawing opposing players into committing penalties against him. Also, he very rarely lets his emotions get the better of him. Even when he's frustrated, there's a certain inner calm. He manages to be in the middle of the play yet stay out of the fray. The two players that I think could become Skinner eventually are Benson and Peterka. They both look like they have that elite skill level but also play the game at a far more mature level than you could expect from players their ages. They also seem to have that inner calm. Before we get into debates, let me put the disclaimer out there that these are just my personal impressions from watching the players play the games and not backed by anything further than my own eyes and the porridge behind them.
  6. Maybe not the absence of Girgs per se, but maybe having Greenway on his line helps him. (In other words, maybe a Greenway - Krebs - Girgs line would be better than Greenway - Krebs - Okie)
  7. Skinner - Tage - Tuch Quinn - Cozens - JJP Benson - Mitts - Greenway VO - Krebs - KO BUT.... that brings the 3 full scoring lines thing closer to reality, and I think Benson - Mitts - Greenway might actually be a pretty good shutdown line as well as a scoring line. If VO just doesn't work with Krebs and KO, swap him with Greenway maybe. But really: VO must go. Even playing better hockey lately, he just doesn't seem to naturally complement any line he plays on.
  8. Were you there, @Spoonman? Or did you miss that one? Thanksgiving Day 2019: Bills at Cowboys. Massive Bills Mafia tailgate. Buffalo Bros. provided free Sahlen's hot dogs by the hundreds. Josh Allen shined as the Bills stomped the Cowboys. Josh Allen converting the fumbled 4th and 1 was probably the best play of the game. This should be cued up to that play.
  9. I went to Maryvale and one of the bigger Catholic schools in the district was Our Lady Help of Christians, aka Chapel. There were a whole bunch of kids that dumped into Maryvale after 6th grade and again after 8th, a lot of whom went to Chapel for their elementary years. Yes, they knew how to party. I'm convinced that two types of people sent their kids to Catholic school: Devout Catholics, and people who thought sending their delinquent children to Catholic school would straighten them out. The end result was that the delinquents got all the kids of devout Catholics smoking and drinking by age 12, and that in high school, the Catholic school kids were the ones always getting caught with cigs or drugs or whatever. Strictly anecdotal, but that's the way it seemed. ...with the precision of a surgeon.
  10. People who still use Reddit I guess?
  11. We need to win with the team that's on the ice.
