...and just like that the cold snap left Texas.

Let's just say his girlfriend will be very happy with the transplant he received from the donor donkey.

A bit early to call him a reliable starter but the returns lately are promising.

Great. Another Bog of Eternal Stench thread.

It was symbiotic. And it was a one-time deal. With other quarterbacks he has a 83-104 record. He made Brady, but Brady also made him. Without Brady he has not been a good coach.

I (think) I saw a change of direction when the ball neared the helmet.

I've seen odds at 50-50 that put Belichick into the head coaching spot in Dallas next year. That would be a disaster for the Cowboys on two fronts: Belichick would demand far more team control than Jerry Jones would give them. Oh the drama that would produce. Belichick is only Belichick because he had Brady. Dak is not Brady and it would further expose Belichick as a mediocre coach who won only because he had a superstar QB. And yes, congrats to the Lions. Apparently the last time they won was when I lived in Detroit, many, many, many years ago.

The Sabres have won a playoff game more recently than the Dolphins. Chew on that.

It appeared that the ball touched the receiver's helmet as he fell out of bounds, thus the ball was out of bounds at that point. I never saw a definitive view of that, but there were a couple of views that "suggested" that. I believe they called that one as out of bounds to begin with, so evidence to overturn needed to be indisputable. From what I saw, there was reasonable reason to dispute.

I read that it was an ankle sprain, no broken bones.

I've been hard on McDermott's coaching over the years, but he's putting on a master class in defensive coaching over the last two games, especially with the injuries they've seen. Players are stepping up all over the place. EDIT: It seems like he has, in fact, learned from the passive prevent that permitted 13 seconds to occur. Even with a bang up defense, the Bills defended pretty aggressively right up to the end.

It may be too late for this season. I hope not, but it could be. But I feel like this team is turning a corner. Suddenly UPL is 4-1-1 in his last six and is stringing good games together, even when they lose. If that's true it will give Levi some time to round into form playing backup minutes. I think someone said the Sabres need to take 2 out of 3 the rest of the way to have a shot. UPL might be able to give them that. I know SJS is a really bad team, but at the end of the game the Sabres were rolling effective lines, keeping the Sharks hemmed in and applying pressure. Late last season they were doing that against all comers. Maybe they're figuring it out again, this time before the All Star break. I'm not saying they're on the right track, but they could be.
