Not necessarily. If a player's head is screwed on right and he's playing better positional hockey, skating around like a chicken with his head cut off is unnecessary. I bet Nick Lidstrom rarely broke 20; he simply didn't need to.

Benson is a curious choice for an untouchable player. Yes, he looks good when he plays, but he's an undersized teen with 4 goals and 10 assists in 40 games. What about that screams "untouchable"?

The question presumes Donny stays on as HC. Harrington answered the question without commenting on that presumption. That, to me, does not indicate Harrington thinks Donny is staying.

Girgs, Okie and Skinner are probably the only players I'd pull for on other teams. Why? Because they're long-tenured Sabres that deserve better than they got on Buffalo. Rooting for, say, the Bruins in a postseason the Sabres miss by 10 points is not detracting from my Sabres fanhood. It's just appreciating that those guys have been good soldiers while here, and wishing the best for them. It's more of a humanity thing than a sports thing.

I know. I was a Buffalo Braves fan. They moved to San Diego, then L.A., and I haven't followed the NBA since. I grew up in Cheektowaga, I live in Fort Worth (Dallas media market) now. I'm a fan of the Sabres because they are in my hometown. If they left there my heart wouldn't be in it anymore and I'd probably stop watching the NHL altogether.
