Here's another one... maybe call it a "proto-meme" because it's really old and has no words. But someone in a thread talked about making the Sabres logo the most Buffalo possible. So we added Genny Creme and kielbasa.

If anyone has heard about the Fort Worth hotel explosion, me and my family are safe. I take it @Spoonman is safe too? Please confirm? This hotel is in a 100 year old building. It was just renovated and opened as the high-end Sandman Signature Hotel in September. The latest report I heard was that all people have been accounted for with no fatalities.

You all know I post memes in the Game Day Threads for when players score goals and when other things happen- big goalie saves, coach things, yeah. I came across some of my old meme pics and thought I'll give them one last showing before leaving them behind forever. First up is a Ralph Krueger meme. It speaks to my belief that I always thought he was kind of a shyster or con-man, or at the very least one of those proclaimed self-help gurus that coaches people how to (impossibly) pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. So I turned him into one of those clickbate ads. The meme:

This kind of reminds me of the people who take Kevyn at face value when he says he really likes player X or player Y and can't believe he'd move them. GMs have to keep their prospects in the fold and make it sound like they're part of the long term plan right up to when the trade is announced to protect both the player and his value.

Yes, if they're paying league minimum to some of their Top Nine. If he's an upgrade over, say, Okposo, sure he's worth $3 mil to Okposo's $2.5 mil. On the other hand, this is also a valid option.

On the other hand.... what's the offer? The write up refers to the Canucks looking for "top-six" forwards. If that's what Vancouver views him as, they may be willing to pay more than Kevyn can refuse. I agree though, I'd like to keep him.

The defense *is* better, but the Sabres are an offense-first team and since they've gone back to that, while the in-zone coverage is better (even when they get hemmed in they haven't lost structure near as much), their high pressure offense does allow for odd-man rushes/breakways against. I think both the goalies are getting used to that and learning to handle it.

I think Olofsson has made a concerted effort to round out his game and you can see it when he plays, but my impression is that, to Kevyn, it's too little, too late and the Sabres ready to move on.

I do like McDaniel's imagination and challenging of some of the assumptions of Basic Football, but I don't think he understands Basic Football as well as other coaches so when an opposing coach figures out how to counter his gimmicks, he's got nothing.

(I don't follow.) It was a reference to this exchange on the last page: I can't agree until he wins it all. I'm not ready to call McDermott great, but to my eyes he's clearly better than McDaniel.

Just because you're on IR doesn't mean you can't practice with the team. Some injuries require working out with the team as part of the rehab. Also, they said he was out week-to-week but I think they're still within the roster limit if he gets activated (23 man roster- the players who played last game plus Lil J, Okie, VO).

Compared to him I tend to agree with @nfreeman about McDermott as a coach.

Week to week. Last week was a different week I guess? There's a difference between practicing and playing too.

TBH if Greenway's still sick I wouldn't mind seeing KO in his spot. The speed of Mitts and Benson would cover for him, and he's still got some wily veteran skills.
