  1. He's got top shelf talent and he's not afraid to use it. He just needs to learn how to do it consistently at the NHL level.
  2. Every goal he scores is amazing.
  3. Yeah, and before the Comets, the Devils AHL club was the Binghamton Devils and before that Albany Devils. So that "leatherstocking" region probably has more allegiance to the Devils than the Sabres. I think the Hudson Valley defaults to NYC sports teams; the further north you go, the more Boston influence there is (based on my experience going to college near Albany).
  4. Yeah, I'm on the chronic injury train with respect to Jack. I honestly don't think he'll ever be That Guy, the difference maker, on his team. I think what work ethic he has is focused on physical rehab rather than skill development. I expect he'll be banged up every year until he decides to hang up the skates. I just don't see it. Too injury prone.
  5. He put you on Double Reverse Ignore. Seriously, hope he's okay.
  6. I'll smoke some meat for you pal.
  7. Thanks for calling me on my BS.
  8. I think it's head-to-head, then Regulation/OT wins (shootout wins are considered lesser).
  9. The Hockey Guy's preview (cued up to the Buffalo-Minn preview):
  10. The team might have been more successful but the locker room still would not have been good.
  11. I've also seen an overlap in Krebs with the kid wingers. They played as a unit in Rochester; I wonder if Donny is trying to give Krebs some time (albeit brief) with them to try to increasing the scoring out of all three.
  12. I still have his sluggo jersey. I can talk about him if I want.
  13. Certainly not from Drew Bonus points if you recognized Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson 😉
  14. And given the choice I think he stays with the Sabres. He made that choice last season; don't expect anything different now. Same, by the way, with Okposo. If he had a chance to go to a SC favorite I think he'd rather play in a more modest playoff run with the Sabres with the C on his shoulder.
  15. I think he's been given a change of scenery within the Sabres org. He's been given a new role with little pressure to score (but if it comes that's great), isn't expected to drive play (but he does at times), is no longer considered a 1/2C (he went into last season expecting to be 1C until he was injured and Tage emerged). The pressure's off and he's just playing and really playing pretty well. I'm not worried about the goals; I think his value is more predicated on simply tilting the ice away from the Sabres goal and he is part of a line that does that pretty well.
  16. Don't count Comrie out though. His SV% isn't that high but remember he took a chunk of the losing streak and the Sabres were pretty horrid at that point... then the injury. The Sabres have the luxury of bringing him slowly back into service and I'm hoping that by the end of the season he is 1B to UPL's 1A and both are playing well, relegating Andy to bench coach status (with the occasional spot start). If the Sabres get to the playoffs, when they are finally defeated there will no doubt be a criticism of goalie usage. It's inevitable. So if Donny doesn't want to face that he's gonna have to win it all. 😉
  17. And the measures will probably take time to be fully effective.
  18. I suffered a similar hit under different circumstances and although I didn't go to the hospital (decades ago you just shook it off) I'm pretty sure I was concussed. I saw stars like in the cartoons and everything.
  19. Casey's stat line tonight against WPG was 1 SOG, 1 TKA. That's it. He had a couple of Grade A scoring opportunities though, and helped stymie the Jets all night. The stats don't show it but he played a very good game.
  20. Anyone who says we have a problem with three quality goalies on the roster has already forgotten the goalie carousel of the last two seasons.
