They were both flying down the ice and VO one-timed it. Also, the three way passing play from Skinner to Tuch to Tage that was one-timed in. Also in the 1990s matchups between the Red Wings and Avs, I think the team that won the season series lost in the playoffs every time. In the...97? Conf Champions there were even a pair of 6-0 games with each team beating the other team soundly in consecutive games. Playoffs are weird but I think a Sabres team playing with house money might be chaotic enough to disrupt the expected order of things.

Part of the reason there was OJT at the NHL level is the Sabres really had nothing at the NHL level. They'd prematurely brought players up without finishing their development. If you look at the forwards in Rochester, because they will need to play their way onto the roster they will likely be more fully developed and will just need to adjust to full NHL speed.
