  1. I'm not sure I agree with what I wrote, just trying to explain someone might say Kevyn "manufactured" a goalie crisis to woo Levi into the fold.
  2. Yeah I'll admit to considerable "rounding error" especially with regard to the Reino-Krebs comparison.
  3. It’s not. Adams traded for Matt Murray but Murray nixed it. He tried for Gibson but he wouldn’t waive to come here. Comrie had the best statistical numbers of any of the ufa goalies last year. Some people might say that having Levi in the fold (obtained by trade July 24, 2021) affected Kevyn's position on Linus Ullmark (signed with Boston on July 28, 2021). With Levi in the fold, Kevyn did not want a long-term competitor for him so he didn't top the Boston offer, thereby manufacturing the situation where the Sabres were a very hospitable landing spot for Levi.
  4. St. Augustine also has runners. ...and burrows right under edging. Some people here have Bermuda, some St. Augustine. I think the St. Augustine is more heat resist but it requires more watering. We found out when we bought the house there was a sprinkler system so that worked out okay for us. In the worst of the summer I probably don't give it all the water I should though.
  5. That really is an amazing haul. You could almost say that Tuch ~= Eichel, Krebs (almost) = Reino, and Greenway ~= Risto. (I know Greenway and Risto play different positions, but thinking of physical impact.) PLUS Östlund, Kulich, Levi, Rosen and a draft pick this year? Holy moley.
  6. Assuming Levi starts, it really comes down to him... but not so much his performance but whether he gives the rest of the team the confidence to go out and kick ass.
  7. Also, according to MoneyPuck, the Panthers have more to lose than the Sabres have to gain (FLA's odds of making playoffs drop 22 percentage points versus an 11 point Sabres gain, with a Sabres regulation win). They will feel the urgency. I hope the Sabres feel it more.
  8. Oh, now I get it! thanks! It all comes down to explaining it in terms people understand.
  9. Because the process of the development takes time to play out.
  10. Probably a sketchy/illegal option, especially if it's free...
  11. There are four delivery methods for NHL games: Normal regional sports network (RSN, such as MSG) normally carried on ESPN+ for out-of-market customers (subject to blackout, for instance I have to watch the Dallas coverage on Bally Sports through my cable subscription when they play the Stars) TNT, which requires some sort of cable/satellite/streaming bundle package that includes TNT (not on RSN) ESPN+/Hulu exclusive, which is not on the RSN NHL Network, which is not on the RSN When I do a Game Day Thread I look at the Sabres NHL page (https://www.nhl.com/sabres) to see what the delivery method is and that's what I put in the thread title. At this point most of us out-of-market people understand that MSG means it's also available on ESPN+ so I don't even mention it.
  12. If he plays lights out next season I for one am perfectly okay with it.
  13. But which thread is the chosen one?? By the way, it's on MSG (as opposed to ESPN+ exclusive)
  14. Dori kind of even looks like Donny Meatballs...
  15. I kinda felt the same way until he was ours.
  16. How many of the teams that are comfortably in the playoffs are going to rest some of their best players so as to avoid injury, especially against a bubble team? It may keep the door open a crack.
  17. ....maybe they'll be resting critical starters in anticipation of the playoffs? I hope?
  18. It's still feasible that the Sabres take WC #1.
  19. Yep, I mentioned that in one of the other threads. Also mentioned the scenario of the Sabres winning with Levi stoning Reino at the end 😄
  20. It will be interesting to see how they do if they need a win at the very end to get in.
  21. I agree with 123% of that.
  22. IF the Sabres win their games in hand, they're tied with NYI and FLA. If they beat FLA Tuesday that will put them ahead of FLA (again, if they win their games in hand). None of the three teams ahead of the Sabres have been going like gangbusters. The Sabres just need to win and the rest will take care of itself I think. Tuesday's game really is The Season. Beat the Panthers and it brings them that much closer to a WC spot; lose and the Panthers have the upper hand. If the Sabres win though they just need PIT or NYI to falter just a bit. The problem is that the Sabres will probably also falter along the way. It's a good playoff race. The Sabres had an opportunity to seize control over the last month but couldn't do it. Hoping Tage's return and the magic of Levi can put them over the top.
