  1. While the Sabres may not get that many odd man rushes, they do get their fair share of fast break rushes (like the one that resulted in Okposo's goal against AZ. Really all the Sabres' Dmen are pretty astute in making long (across both blue lines) breakout passes.
  2. Don't forget how young Cozens is- he's only 22 versus Mitts who is 25. I wouldn't write off Cozens as a gifted center just yet. Casey had his struggles and his learning curve, and is still working to improve. The fact that he is 3 years further along in development doesn't mean his ceiling is any higher than Dylan's. If you're right, he's still a pretty good placeholder until a center emerges from Rochester.
  3. Kane is actually doing... well, not so bad, all things considered. The real point is that he isn't enough to help Detroit right now, whereas Robinson is helping the Sabres.
  4. It was indicating my disagreement with a position that I nevertheless respect. He's been stoned from the top of the crease several times during this drought. He just needs to get a bounce or two.
  5. It's for trying to get this back on the rails.
  6. I understand your position, I just view things differently. I can even say I respect your position, but it's not a view that I share.
  7. And so far, Robinson is helping us more than Kane is helping Detroit. (Although to be fair, Detroit's woes are more about players that should be on their active roster but aren't right now.)
  8. We can talk about whether Cozens is 2nd or 3rd C, but in general I'm pretty happy with our center spine. When Tuch, Greenway and Quinn are back, Cozens will be fine. With Tuch returning... tonight?... I wouldn't be surprised to see Tage back at center with lines like: Skinner - Tage - Tuch Benson - Mitts - JJP Jost - Cozens - Olofsson Robinson - Krebs -Okie I wouldn't be surprised to see the centers jumbled up though. Maybe Mitts stays on Line 1, maybe start Tage out centering the 3rd line while he adjusts back to center.
  9. It makes sense, but for some reason I figured all special teams goals didn't count, but shorties make sense.
  10. I thought special teams goals don't count toward +/- ?
  11. Your wish is my command.
  12. The Twitter reaction is that people from Maryland/north of DC are up in arms because the new site is too far away. It's 6 miles, just a few stops down the Metro.
  13. Interesting background. I wonder if the whole Potomac Yard thing is a ploy to force the Capital One Arena updates?
  14. Yes, just south of Reagan National Airport (DCA), at Potomac Yard at the north end of Alexandria. I've actually been to the site of the new arena. The site is currently a large strip mall anchored by a Target. For people flying in to see a game you could feasibly walk from the airport to the arena, and there are already a bunch of hotels nearby in Crystal City (immediately west of the airport). I've been to Crystal City for business and typically I walk from the airport to Crystal City, and I've walked from my hotel to dinner in Alexandria. (It's a bit far for most, a mile to the hotels, maybe a mile and a half to two miles from Crystal City to Potomac Yard.) But for the less pedestrian adventurous, there are Metro stops at all those places too.
  15. You have to click it to really see the full picture.
  16. I think the Venn Diagram of "Quinn coming back and continuing his progress" and "Unlikelihood of the Sabres making the playoffs" is two circles not touching each other.
  17. I was talking about the Bills play. My bad.
  18. The referee said offsides.
  19. He was actually across the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped.
