Keep the pipeline filled.
Now, I want to make sure I have this right: this isn't a Sabres contract, correct? This is purely an Amerks deal, which means no call up unless the Sabres sign him?
"The RIT senior has agreed to terms on a one-year American Hockey League contract with the Buffalo Sabres organization for the 2015-16 season."
-
What's TBD?
-
and they beat Boston shortly before that.
-
No you're right.
-
That Coho, always swimming against the current... :ph34r:
Ah, now I finally understand why they say he's the hardest working guy on the team.... always swimming upstream.
-
I think most fans would be fine with another substandard year if it meant the beginnings of success in 2016-17.
That last line is about as reasonable as when the girl gets on the train to the North Pole in the Frosty the Snowman cartoon, and she casually says, "I'm sure my mother won't mind, as long as I'm home for supper."
:blink:
-
I do too, actually. Ft Worth, Austin and San Antonio are okay, the rest.... ugh.
-
The Sabres most likely will pull this off.
If they don't, my blame will go towards a powerplay that's scored 7 goals in the last 7 games. They only had 20 pp goals in the 1st 66 games.
Getting the powerplay to go stone cold again and sneaking a point or 2 against the Loafs would essentially clinch it. If the pp stays hot; they've got trouble.
And the odd thing was that the PP seemed to get hot when they put Ennis at the point. Now Ennis is out and the PP is still hot. Weird.

Thanks to everyone for the population info....not sure why ANYONE would like to go to TO though!
Yeah, we feel the same about NY City.
-
Wait...what? You mean the players aren't in on this tank thing?
Only CoHo is. And it really has nothing to do with the tank ;)
-
Yup, these guys are LOVING the fact that people are pissed.....and rightly so
John Vogl[/size] @BuffNewsVogl
Lots of shouts of joy coming from Sabres' dressing room.
So all this time all we had to do to motivate the Sabres was to root for the other team. Who knew?
-
I think he goes pro immediately though.
That's what the article concluded too. Still... you never know.
for the sabs to put up 40 SOG is nothing short of amazing tho.
I watched the game and they kept announcing the shots on goal, but I didn't get the sense that we were outshooting them. Maybe it's just such foreign territory my brain can't wrap itself around the concept.
-
They broke 50 points, that is an accomplishment with this team. Nolan deserves all the credit. Not sure if that helps him much.
Fell asleep, couldn't watch, but I find it ironic a TM defenseman won the game...Mess even the king of shart this season.
The last couple of games it seems apparent that 1) Messy likes to score, and 2) he's auditioning for next year's contract.
-
They are definitely playing harder than they have all season, especially for a whole game.
I still expect them to complete the tank, but I have to say I'm encouraged that they are playing with that killer instinct late into games. I would have preferred to have the December winning streak now (with losses at that time) so the lead on the shart would have been bigger, then I could enjoy their current play more.
If the Sabres do end up with Eichel, there's a chance he won't join the team next year. I read an article where several NHLers that jumped out of the NCAA after one season said they wished they'd stayed another year or two. The article pointed out that Eichel is an exceptional player, but he could still conceivably stay in college another year.
I think if the Sabres got him that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. It would give the Sabres a season to build up before getting their premium player dumped in their lap.
-
Oh hell no. But it's not the gloom and doom everyone makes it out to be.
At this point, the Sabres are making it "interesting" when they don't have to. That's what the fans get for cheering opponent goals the other night.
-
OK, trying to find something to make things feel better. Ask yourself this: what is the chance, now, that the Sabres hold on to 30th? Call that p. If we assume that Edmonton is out (even if they lose all 6 games after going 5-1-2 in their last 8, the Sabres would have to go 6-0-0, 5-1-0, 5-0-1 or 4-0-2 to pass them), then the chance of McEichel is:
McE = p + 0.335(1-p)
Optimist? p = 0.75 --> McE = 83%
Neutral? p = 0.50 --> McE = 67%
Pessimist? p = 0.25 --> McE = 50%
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHLlottery.html
p = 89%

Ye of little faith. Don't worry, the Sabres suck enough to earn 30th.
-
I literally cannot imagine a worse feeling as a hockey fan.
What? You don't remember the bankruptcy? The talk of moving the team? You need to chill, sir.
-
Well THAT didn't go according to plan...
Always gotta do it the hard way, eh, Sabres?
I was glad that the players were rewarded for their work though.
-
What is it with hot mess ?
Post of the year.
-
Messy showed some good speed on that icing... for an old guy anyway.
-
Okay Messy..... impressive but cut it out.
-
This pleases Nikita.
Nice moves.
-
Na zdrowie :lol:
I cannot wait until I can utter that phrase as a prelude to a drink. Come on, Easter! And hopefully by then I'll be celebrating a tank well executed.
This singer stinks
Painful is what he is.

Yeah, they've been marketing Yancey's to the Phoenix market for a while now; I think I mentioned on SS a year or two ago when I was randomly watching a late game out of Phoenix.
Costco carries Yancey's on a periodic/promotional basis here in TX.
