  1. Dahlin just had the assist.
  2. TBN front page tomorrow: GM jsb Fired After Sens Claim Dahlin From Waivers
  3. Top line is great at controlling the play in the offensive zone, but is struggling on their reads and effort in their own end at the moment. They should be pissed.
  4. All three forwards got sucked in below the hashmarks. Wide open point shooter should have been Hall's assigment. Reinhart read it and tried to react to cover Hall's guy high, but it was way too late.
  5. Miller's turnover starts the play, but that should be recoverable. It's 3 on 3. Dahlin chases behind, Miller takes the far side man, and Eichel needs to pick up the trailer and gets caught watching Miller's man. By the time Eichel notices the trailer, it's already in the net. Miller's turnover starts the play, but #9 needs to read it.
  6. Live content (sports) has long been predicted to tentpole traditional broadcast outlets as other content (like scripted TV series) face exterminatingly fierce competition from streaming services and massive revenue reduction. Sporting events and exclusivity agreements are the silver bullet to keeping network television afloat. NBC Universal must have evaluated that preserving/protecting the USA Network brand with a mix of of sports and other NBC content was more lucrative than isolating sports onto NBCSN and hoping the other content could keep USA alive. This also allows USA to siphon some of that rich sports advertising money into making/buying new shows that will eventually aid Peacock's content portfolio as well. And this doesn't just get USA more viewers and more cash from advertisers, it's also leverage in negotiations with content carriers (like cable and satellite companies) to pay them to carry the USA channel in their lineups. Imagine what TNT would look like without NBA. That's what NBC Universal wants to avoid with USA. Cash rules everything around me.
  7. FWIW and because it wasn't posted yet. Also, the motivation to make moves may already be data-supported. We're ballin' out on both sides of the puck, sans low shooting %, but goaltending is the obvious issue and may be worse. I know in-season trades for goalies are rare, but it's hard to believe you give Hall $8M to impress him for a year and then think that backstopping him with a Shooter Tutor is ok. I believe the motivation to improve is there, particularly is Hutton is out long term.
  8. Are we positive 2019-2020 Marc-Andre Fleury provides an upgrade worthy of spending both assets to acquire and significant cap space? Ullmark: 17-14-3; 0.915; 2.69GAA, $2.6M, UFA after this year Hutton: 12-14-4; 0.898; 3.18GAA (6-8-0, 0.901 post-eye surgery), $2.75M, UFA after this year Fleury: 27-16-5; 0.905; 2.77GAA, $7M, UFA after next year Fleury had a lower SV% and higher GAA behind a winning team than Ullmark had behind us. Over 71 games, VGK allowed 209G, BUF allowed 215G; VGK scored 224G; BUF scored 193G- it doesn't appear on paper that Fleury makes the difference between these two teams.
  9. We had great chances we didn't capitalize on, but we certainly generated a high number of great chances. I'd even say we out played them for the vast majority of the game, even if they played better top to bottom than last night.
  10. Oh how quickly the Tage Thompsons.
  11. I think if there's going to be a premeditated response, someone else will be the hitman and risk taking the penalty. McCabe seems like a good fit for this.
  12. Based. Not just on eye test, but Skinner leads the Sabres and is 7th in the league in total EV ixG. What the ***** does that mean? Statistically speaking, he's ballin' out, and he should have goals already. And that's at even strength with his even strength linemates. Krueger's experiment to see if Jeff can elevate his linemates and create matchup headaches continues to be real interesting.
  13. Gotta believe that even if the Jeff Skinner-in-the-bottom-six functionally works, it'd be very tempting for Kevyn Adams to fish him out there just to rid his salary cap of a $9M bottom six player. That said, I don't think they've given up on him yet, at all. But Jeff would have to be working well in the top six or doing something downright magical in the bottom six to keep that target off his back.
  14. Oh, I know. I just wanted the satisfaction of typing out the words "I cropped his nuts out."
  15. They didn't. I cropped his nuts out before uploading the underlying image.
  16. They *****in' rejected Michelangelo's David. Philistines! BOOOOOO
  17. It's cool we don't WSH again until tomorrow night. And then next Friday. And then next Sunday. #meatgrinder
  18. TOBIAS RIEDER GOT HIS 1 GOAL!
  19. Agreed. He had at least that one perfectly clean takeaway and immediately moved it straight up the ice past the redline onto the tape for a Sabres odd-man rush.
  20. In-game Roswell Park ads have no chill.
  21. BOOOO PK Go back to Navy blue.
