I could see us spending 88 to move up into one of these picks.

And the chance to lead a veritable college superteam operating at a superb level under excellent coaching while developing physically, mentally, and technically and -get this- not burning a year off his ELC.

I think once the first eight-ish picks were gone, there simply wasn't enough draft capital available for any team to meet the high price. Why force a trade tonight when that's off the board? Good on KA for holding.

Which quantification are you using and what is it for the players mentioned? I ask, because your first post sounds like a list of personal opinions, not a quantitative analysis by which to judge the analytics approach of the front office. And even then, there are other non-analytical considerations for each player situation, such that whether or not a player is traded (or drafted or protected) may be more strongly determined by trading partners, positional needs, etc. This could result in the Sabres "being all in on analytics" for player evaluation, but unable to apply them practically, leaving them short of your definition.

It's the difference between a radio play-by-play (or a television/radio simulcast play-by-play) and a television-only play-by-play. The radio play-by-play must describe the action at all times as the listeners can't see the game, whereas the television play-by-play theoretically doesn't have to do this, allowing chatter during play. The radio style, unfortunately, will probably die out.

I received my cutout today (not what is pictured above) and it is gloooorious. Super happy I did this. Bonus: it's autographed by Sam Reinhart right on my forehead... so he'll likely be traded.

Any links to the video for this? Sabres had it up on the fb page, but took it down after about 10 minutes.

I miss when this was a thing in my life. Anytime the Badgers scored five or more, all ticket stubs to the game would get a free ice cream at Culver's the next week. It was such ubiquitous delight that when the score was 4, the packed Kohl Center would chant "WE WANT ICE CREAM." And with very good Badger teams led by Joe Pavelski, Kyle Turris, Brian Elliott, and others, we got free ice cream a lot.
