Class act. How does this impact or help the B's salary cap???

Miro Satan for Millar and Moore was a great acquisition.

What is Olofsson's role in the 2023/24 Sabres?
Carmel Corn replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Rinse and repeat. I foresee a 3rd liner with extra PP time. He'll hit 25 goals to help his next UFA contract value with at least 10 of them on the PP. As in the past, no PK time. I don't see a trade due to Quinn's injury plus most teams have no cap. -
Is there any kind of metric out there which correlates rebound control to goals against? One of my biggest concerns with UPL is his inability to control rebounds, which seemingly turns into more goals against us vs. other netminders who may be better. No idea if my suspicion is true.

Sabres traded that made you sad to see them go
Carmel Corn replied to RangerDave's topic in The Aud Club
Brayden McNabb.....we already traded Peter way back when and that was a mistake. Trading Brayden was the second time we traded away a McNabb and shouldn't have. -
Either that or the market is simply not showing much demand...GMKA won't trade him for a bag of pucks and many teams can't afford him without some Sabres salary retention.
-
IDK - he's scored about as many goals in 3 years as Mitts has scored in 5+ seasons. Granted Mitts wasn't a 1OA, but still high expectations for a top 10 guy. I consider Byfield a bigger "bust" than Lafreniere for the 2020 draft.
-
Pretty sure $2.3 is not going to get the job done....he scored 12, 19 and 16 goals his first 3 seasons. He may be on the verge of bigger production as well. They're going to have to do something else to create space.

Buffalo sabres Coaching staff Received Contract extensions.?
Carmel Corn replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
I would have liked to see some changes for more experienced assistants, but LOYALTY seems to be the theme of this regime. The only way to get new assistants is to fire Granato himself....as I don't see our current assistants going anywhere else (ex. promotions). -
I've seen some speculation that he will remain with the Leafs and that they may in turn try to buy out Murray.
-
Does he resemble Point's speed?

Seems like a perfect Donny G reclamation project....oh well.

Winnipeg won't give Helle away for peanuts, which is what the above is. Helle is still under contract and so if I were them, I'd make him play and then see what they can get at the deadline.

IMHO - the defense corp is more than "slightly" improved vs. a year ago. We'll have at least 6 bonafide NHL's out there and very possibly a better 2nd pairing because Joki hopefully moves to the 3rd. No more Bryson is addition by subtraction. Did we sign a top 4 stud? Maybe not, but we are clearly better.
-
IMHO - <50% chance now.

Sad to see this (Graves)...but now wondering if Pitt is now out of any Erik Karlsson scenario? They just signed Acciari and Jarry as well, so maybe Dubas gave up on a Karlsson deal.
-
What other UFA goalies are still out there as possibilities?
-
Still wondering where Graves and Compher end up. Could care less where Kane and Tarasenko land.

Defense remake underway! Who is moving on?
Carmel Corn replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Sorry, but no way Mule gets 3rd pair minutes....too much defensive ability lost there....the only way he's not on the ice is for the PP or if he's injured. -
VO could be a good asset going back to help their offense.
-
Connor Clifton coming??
-
Well, between Max and our Quinn, there might be two healthy achilles to work with.
-
Yes...I am fascinated by how the UFA market will play out this year. On the one hand, some of the high profile guys are still going to get their MAX deals in terms of term and AAV. But to your point, there is only so much $ cap, and so are the guys who don't sign early going to find out that they waited too long and the $'s have dried up???

Nice to see some areas of need being addressed for the future pipeline. The question I wonder about is whether other teams in our division have flourished more (or not) than us?
