Losing like this makes me want to rethink if Lindy should just say screw it and try playing a wide open offense style. Nothing is working, so just tell the boys to play 100% run and gun and let UPL and Reimer know they will be left hung out to dry as a result. Getting just 3 SOG’s in the 3rd is too hard for me to understand.

Maybe a bad idea, but I think you gotta challenge that. I don’t trust that we can score during the next 1:45 otherwise

Agreed in theory yes. We have Dahlin and Byram who can do this as well. BUT we need players who are on the ice both even strength and on the PK who can neutralize opposing players in the zone, box out in the crease, etc. I am in a different place than you in terms of the value of defense vs. offense by our defenders. If Power was making $5 million vs. $8 would I feel differently? Maybe. Regardless of that….our top 6 simply sucks from a goal production standpoint and our Power Play is a hot mess, so I think we desperately need to give up something of value to get something we need….top 6 goal production.

We need offense from our top 6…..and we need an $8 million kid to be able to play defense too, otherwise you might as well make him a forward…..or is that what you are suggesting?

Gotta believe the Bruins are getting an earful in the locker room from the coach….they do NOT want to be the team that enables Buffalo to finally end the losing streak.

We already have Dahlin and Byram…..I’d rather add another top 4 who can actually play a shut-down defensive style vs. being a wandering pseudo forward. In the mean time, our top 6 can’t score enough goals to win games.

I’ve been saying for years that the Zamboni drivers only need to clean the outer perimeter of the Sabres offensive zone during the intermissions…..time savings for them.

My argument is that we have higher priorities than keeping him and that we are wasting $8 million a year for a defender who is paid like a top 4, but can’t play defense. Maybe someday he will, but it may be a 15 to 20 year playoff drought by then.

Keep throwing out names and maybe you’ll finally get a hit. BTW Chychrun doesn’t make $8 million a year. Power can’t skate like Karlsson could. Reilly?…..yeah he’s paid a lot I guess, but I would not be advocating having him on our roster either.

Too many low hockey IQ players that GMKA has assembled here. I don’t think being young is an excuse for some of the poor decision making…..they’ve played hockey long enough to know better.

Top 4 D should play the PK IMHO. This team has a first line center deficiency and a second line C as well. Maybe TNT plays wing on a first line, but Cozens isn’t a 2C. We need a top 6 center right now more than a young soft development project that cannot defend (making $8 million)

This team could use a whole truckload of Lume deodorant and they would still stink (it’s not you!)

Once again nobody takes the body in front of our net…..just standing there watching the Bruins hack away for the lead. Hockey is a physical game, but unfortunately nobody on the Sabres knows this.

IMHO - having a daily call with the team owner is EXACTLY indicative of a meddlesome boss.

Reduce the “defensive responsibilities” of two of your top 4 defensemen? So are you saying they should be on the bottom 6 pair? That sounds more knucklehead then trading one of them.

Sure….if you think Sabre fandom can wait another 2 years for this $hitshow to turnaround. IMHO - changes cannot wait that long and we need to acquire (not develop) top 6 talent that is higher quality than what we already have. Maybe under normal circumstances, we can wait….but this situation is so bad that there isn’t enough patience in all of Erie county (and beyond) to wait and hope our talent can develop.
