True….but I am wondering if that line is playing well so far? McLeod is playing with some speedier skaters than he was on the 3rd line and it seems like the 4th line is very active thus far IMHO

Our third line is really Woof tonight….one player should be back in Canadian Juniors, another should be down in Rochester and the third is maybe a 4th liner at best.

Nope, no accountability. The fish stinks from the head, so if Pegula himself shows no urgency, then nothing else really matters. The players talked about it last off-season, but it seems like nothing but lip service now

Some teams emphasize physicality….no fear as if they are like first responders who run to the fire rather than away from it. The type of players we’ve had in Buffalo for decades play like they’re contact “avoiders”, meaning they don’t initiate hits and turn away from defenders to avoid them. This doesn’t work well if you want to be.a fast, puck controlling team. IMHO they did not assemble the right kind of players to maintain possession, but rather traded what they had away. A scared team that ends up playing perimeter hockey is almost the exact polar opposite of what it takes to be a puck possession team.

I don’t disagree with you guys, but if we are stuck with these players, then they may not win another 10 games this season unless LIndy comes up with something different. Unless GMKA gets different players….I see no reason to think things will get better.

The Sabres simply don’t have a player who can reliably carry the puck into the zone and maintain possession…whether it be at even strength or on the PP. They therefore cannot easily setup their offense. Jack Eichel could do this and we haven’t had anybody since.

Losing like this makes me want to rethink if Lindy should just say screw it and try playing a wide open offense style. Nothing is working, so just tell the boys to play 100% run and gun and let UPL and Reimer know they will be left hung out to dry as a result. Getting just 3 SOG’s in the 3rd is too hard for me to understand.

Maybe a bad idea, but I think you gotta challenge that. I don’t trust that we can score during the next 1:45 otherwise

Still low SOG’s for both teams this period….neither goalie getting rubber thrown at them Might end up being a fluke goal that wins it for somebody
