I think the fact that the list is so few of 5 year players, that to me speaks volumes. Our sample size is so small because we either fail at developing and/or trade them for a supposed better return...which is also debatable in terms of how well that has gone. Not to mention that our track record of drafting bona fide NHL talent is not so good.

Exactly...you can't teach accuracy...he had chances to hit wide open receivers but continues to miss to often. This is not a new problem for him. I am hoping for the best because he seems like a really good kid, but he has to hit open receivers better.

The problem is, there is very little in the pipeline that suggest this will all get better soon. I like Cozens, TT - who knows?, but what other players have we drafted who show the potential to be both tough and top 6 forwards. I don't want to settle for bottom 6 tough role players, but scorers who aren't afraid to mix it up vs. being pushovers.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a Sabres coach so motivated....don't give an inch!

Unfortunately we have not learned this important lesson for what...say the last 15 years of drafting?!?!

There's only so much you can do playing 47 minutes per game ?

Jack + Skinner absolutely yes. Adding Okposo makes it a $25 million line with slow fifth wheel...no thanks.

I miss the Barnaby - May - Ray days. It's always best to have a few guys who can dish it out when the situation calls for it.

D-pairings changed???

Maybe the NYR's are in his head? He's taken a couple of hits already and it's early. Hoping by the end of the game he has a couple of assists to make up for it.

There may be numbers to prove otherwise, but I have it in my head that Henrik Lundqvist always seems to play tough against the Sabres. I hope tonight can prove it is just my imagination and that we can light him up!

My thought is to enjoy them while they are playing well, but then wish them good luck if they do not accept a short-term deal with a modest increase. I would like to see a 4th line with more speed and scoring, as it seems to me that the league style is emphasizing more offense lately.

Something tells me it won't be long before the team is forced to make a change and start a new dynamic....not by trade, but instead by injury. For now, I like keeping both guys unless a really lop-sided trade opportunity presents itself. We'll see!
