  1. RIP to another great one! I hope the Sabres do something really special to recognize him in a packed house early next season.
  2. IMHO - there was never any doubt....it was already decided by the end of the season. The so-called search is merely a check the box exercise.
  3. With all the balls GMKA is juggling right now, maybe one deal he could swing would be with the Wild to get that missed opportunity back...but not sure Minny has the overall asset package to make it worth our while.
  4. Yep, that will sell a lot of season tickets! I agree with you and I would need to decide whether I renew my NHL Center Ice package next season to watch yet another losing season.
  5. EXACTLY! .....and the nominees for the next Sabres' coach is......Don Granato, second is.....Don Granato, and last is......Don Granato. ....and the winner is.....DON GRANATO This HC search has as much drama and excitement as the Academy awards. It was a pretend search exercise all along and the outcome was certain a long time ago.
  6. Yes, exactly! For the past few seasons the Sabres have had a revolving door of different bottom 6 forwards and journeyman defense. None of those additions were good enough to make an impact and the amount of change made it difficult to develop any cohesion (even if they had talent). The Sabres management has made it a habit if shopping at Dollar General and still overpaying for the useless crap, broken or outdated crap they acquired.
  7. As others have stated, this organization has failed Jack vs. the other way around. That said though, I think it was a mistake to make him captain...which may have been a collective failure.
  8. Love a player like Wood, that's what we're missing. I'd do that trade straight up even without an extra pick.
  9. I think both are right....both sides saying no thanks. Who actually believes this is really an exhaustive search vs. an illusion to make it look like one and simply hire Granato.
  10. Who (defenseman) do you like that you think might be still available in the 2nd round?
  11. NO...NO....NO!!! Please, we already had one Krueger on this team and it was a colossal failure, not another one please 😉 I Do really like this kid!
  12. But for some of us....maybe more....our least favorite is Adam "Turnover" Hall! Correction...Taylor
  13. The Isles are a well-coached team. No worries about getting the W tonight. Just hope that Boston doesn't go into cheap-shot mode and cause any injuries...NYI will need their full cast to battle the Lightning.
  14. This organization has slowly developed him to be a future contributor, which I think is now. I would rather offer a low pick (ex. 6th to protect Linus) to keep Borgen and reap the benefits of years of development. We don't have much in the pipeline who plays the way he does and we would give up much more to trade for it.
  15. Perhaps....wondering if it also supports what we've been saying a long time....that there is no POHO role in the works and that GMKA is in charge.
  16. Yes, I like Beniers a lot and IMHO think his style of play is what this team (Buffalo) needs more of. Power is playing in the top pairing, which probably helps his draft status. That said, we already have a 1st overall LHD on our team and does Power make things more interesting there? If Benier's ankle is indeed broken, would GMKA even consider a trade down to somebody who wants Power and still give us the option to draft Benier in maybe the mid round 1 (assuming he falls due to injury)? Plus many other moving parts to consider in all this...Eichel, Sam, Risto, Expansion Draft, etc.
  17. Just when you might think the Sabres' luck was improving (lottery), then something like this happens to a potential #1 selection....Cursed again!
  18. Thanks....I like his game....could see him as an Adam's kind of guy and a nice compliment to Cozens as a new future core.
  19. In case I missed it...if Power goes 2nd, who do you see as #1.....Beniers?
  20. I would still like to have Marcus Foligno on our team. I don't necessarily think he is the lesser one in his family.
  21. Toronto getting closer to clutching defeat from the jars of victory!!!
  22. My odds are on Granato. As other teams fill their HC roles, the likes of Gallant, Boudreau, maybe Torts, etc. will get scooped up by other teams that are more attractive to these experienced HC's. Some may have ego's that think they're good enough to lead Buffalo out of the ashes, but I still don't think they're coming. It will be Granato by default....plus his price tag will be cheaper.
  23. He may be deflecting, but at the same time I find him easier to listen to and follow than former HCRK. Granato seems to be a good communicator vs. the intellectual BS artist that Krueger was.
  24. Yes, but wouldn't it have been even more interesting if Jack wore a Bruin's hat and Sam wore a Canuck's one!
  25. At some point I wish teams (including Buffalo here) show some backbone and say "you're under contract, we expect you to be a professional and fulfill your part of the contract....end of story)! The Sabres are going to get hosed on any deal, so do NOT make a deal and instead make this situation work and keep him on the team. I still don't want to see him traded even after the presser.
