  1. Seems to me that they'll also address the expansion draft outcome and why they did what they did (whatever that is).
  2. Maybe belongs in another thread, but adding Boldy (+ Rossi, etc.) gets my attention real fast. Maybe we can package 22OA plus one of our 2nds to get back into the top 10 if an LA King's deal above doesn't happen.
  3. I could easily be wrong, but the more this goes on, the more it feels that NOTHING will happen before the draft. GMKA will not make a trade just to make a trade and will cite that the return was not enough to justify making a change. GMKA will select Power at 1OA and then we'll watch other teams make moves, but not Buffalo.
  4. This is something I have pondered as a crazy scenario. Would they take Jeff's contract (assuming he waives his NMC?) along with Jack or Sam in exchange for 2OA and more picks this year and beyond. It does not help us today, but I'd sure like to get rid of that horrible contract. Crazy thought I guess.
  5. As they say....It's always darkest before dawn. We're overdue and maybe the hockey gods will finally shine upon us.
  6. Yes....and/or maybe Richardson too?
  7. OMG - the mystical Land of Fa! Great memories of morning radio there! I am not sure what is further away from reality right now....the Land of Fa or Hockey Heaven.
  8. Thanks...sorry did not mean to imply that. I agree Stone is an elite player and will be for a while, but he's only 2 years into his 8 year deal and I wonder how his game will be a few years from now. Unfortunately for him and Vegas, his performance was below expectations against Montreal. But as you and others have mentioned, the "if's" may kill any chance of anything like this happening because of the multiple NMC's. I have this continual question in my head as to how Buffalo can somehow get out of the Skinner deal....as unlikely as that may be.
  9. Crazy thought, but if somehow a deal could be engineered that would include Jack, Skinner for Stone and MAF, I'd be curious. A lot of "if's" there, but conceptually swapping bad long term contracts with Stone and Skinner is my line of thinking. I'd rather have Stone long-term than Skinner. MAF could provide a bridge in hopes our G prospects can develop.
  10. Yes....and remember the commercial where Ford tried to convince us that the Granada was just like a Mercedes Benz? Kind of like saying the Sabres are similar to the Tampa Lightning.
  11. This thread may compete with one over on the Bill's page relating to whether Zach Ertz will ever come to Buffalo.
  12. RIP to another great one! I hope the Sabres do something really special to recognize him in a packed house early next season.
  13. IMHO - there was never any doubt....it was already decided by the end of the season. The so-called search is merely a check the box exercise.
  14. With all the balls GMKA is juggling right now, maybe one deal he could swing would be with the Wild to get that missed opportunity back...but not sure Minny has the overall asset package to make it worth our while.
  15. Yep, that will sell a lot of season tickets! I agree with you and I would need to decide whether I renew my NHL Center Ice package next season to watch yet another losing season.
  16. EXACTLY! .....and the nominees for the next Sabres' coach is......Don Granato, second is.....Don Granato, and last is......Don Granato. ....and the winner is.....DON GRANATO This HC search has as much drama and excitement as the Academy awards. It was a pretend search exercise all along and the outcome was certain a long time ago.
  17. Yes, exactly! For the past few seasons the Sabres have had a revolving door of different bottom 6 forwards and journeyman defense. None of those additions were good enough to make an impact and the amount of change made it difficult to develop any cohesion (even if they had talent). The Sabres management has made it a habit if shopping at Dollar General and still overpaying for the useless crap, broken or outdated crap they acquired.
  18. As others have stated, this organization has failed Jack vs. the other way around. That said though, I think it was a mistake to make him captain...which may have been a collective failure.
  19. Love a player like Wood, that's what we're missing. I'd do that trade straight up even without an extra pick.
  20. I think both are right....both sides saying no thanks. Who actually believes this is really an exhaustive search vs. an illusion to make it look like one and simply hire Granato.
  21. Who (defenseman) do you like that you think might be still available in the 2nd round?
  22. NO...NO....NO!!! Please, we already had one Krueger on this team and it was a colossal failure, not another one please 😉 I Do really like this kid!
  23. But for some of us....maybe more....our least favorite is Adam "Turnover" Hall! Correction...Taylor
  24. The Isles are a well-coached team. No worries about getting the W tonight. Just hope that Boston doesn't go into cheap-shot mode and cause any injuries...NYI will need their full cast to battle the Lightning.
  25. This organization has slowly developed him to be a future contributor, which I think is now. I would rather offer a low pick (ex. 6th to protect Linus) to keep Borgen and reap the benefits of years of development. We don't have much in the pipeline who plays the way he does and we would give up much more to trade for it.
