  1. Agree, would like to see a legit power forward type player on each scoring line. Saw Comtois play a little earlier this week...saw bits of speed, good hands and vision. If given a chance to swap with VO, I would make that deal.
  2. I've taken in some of their recent games. The quality scoring opportunities seem to be heavily weighted to the Eichel line, meaning if you can defend them well, then there is not a wealth of secondary scoring right now. Also, Max Pacioretty has been hurt and that along with Stone being out really hurts their firepower. Goaltending has not been a strength as well. Maybe a .500 team for a while.
  3. BTO song (You ain't seen nothing yet)...."You know, you know, you know you just ain't seen nothin' yet"
  4. I agree with the first statement....Eichel does not consistently push the pace. I've taken in some VGK games lately and Jack still "floats" considerably in his game. Once in a while, he will drive the action with the puck, but more often than not he is simply gliding around with his stick in the air. Yes he is still a strong puck handler and passer, but imagine if he played every shift with intensity and a high motor? He simply doesn't do that, despite his gifts.
  5. Blue Jackets 5, VGK 4....Eichel with a PP goal early in the 3rd.
  6. So, in the limited sample size to date....does his game remind you more of dad (Kjell) or Ulf (unrelated)? Or a combination of both?
  7. Skinner looks like he's having fun again! Ralph Krueger might be the absolute worst coach in Sabres' history.
  8. Hoping to see Dahlin and Cozens continue to build strength and mass in the off-season...imagine them with another 10 or 15 lbs. of muscle and how that might add to their games.
  9. Love that Cozens is staying around the rink!
  10. The Vegas win and this game have been the most fun 2 game stretch in years!
  11. I kind of miss those Sabres/Leafs intense games from years ago....maybe this helps revive the rivalry.
  12. Horrible turnover by Victor on the PP
  13. I like this line together! Vinnie Krebs Cozens
  14. TNT is so bad to me, I'm watching the 3rd round of the TPC Sawgrass until play starts in the 3rd.
  15. Agree! If healthy, then yes VGK is a playoff caliber roster....but Pacioretty (33), Marchessault (31), Pietrangelo (32), Stone (29), McNabb (31), Lehner (30), etc. suggests that VGK may be looking at their own rebuild soon...and hopefully by then our Sabres are playoff contenders.
  16. On a side note, I've been watching the Knights/Pens game tonight. Pen's are up 3 to 2 with about 12 minutes left in the 3rd. Pen's were up 2-0 after one and VGK was very flat. Eichel ends up scoring VGK's first goal from in front of the net and VGK tied it later in the 2nd. 4 goals, 8 assists in 12 games so far. He was on the ice for the Pen's go ahead goal in the 3rd...was a little late covering the Pen's D-man who jumped into the play and scored. He was interviwed between periods, but the VGK broadcast did not bring up the Sabres game last night. Forgot to mention that Max Pacioretti left the game in the second...so VGK is down another scorer...has not returned.
  17. Maybe Tyler Myers...that way Power has literally somebody he can "look up to" ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Good point, it has not worked out with finding a partner for Dahlin thus far. Perhaps we need to sign a proven netminder before people might take notice.
  19. Good for him from a money and stability standpoint, however he may still be years away from being in the playoffs.
  20. Regardless of "who" specifically comes to mind. Would the possibility of being partnered with Power somehow be an enticement for attracting talent that would otherwise not have Buffalo on their preferred list?
