He was truly a SNIPER out there...others have found ways to score more goals, but he was such a dangerous shooter!

Can we win a Cup without a Superstar forward?
Carmel Corn replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Players today are in much better physical condition vs. back in 1978. That includes being bigger and stronger. Hell, players in 1978 would pack their 6-packs and cig's on their road trips. Most all of our young guys can use more strength as their bodies mature. For ex., I could see Cozens as becoming an elite power forward if he could add another 20 lbs. -
Devon Levi watch, update: he's returning to college

I am selfishly hoping that Michigan wins the championship, thinking that both Portillo and Power will feel satisfied with their collegiate careers and ready to move on to their next challenge. -

So if this happens, we still retain his rights until 2024, correct (since he was drafted in 2020)? -
Yes...I kept seeing others assess that the Red Wings, Senators, etc. were further ahead in their rebuilds vs. lowly Buffalo. I found myself falling for this assessment. Now that we have a larger body of work to see (March), I feel more like "F*** - it" our rebuild is going just fine! I need to give GMKA more credit.

Is this right (re: Portillo)? I thought he was only a sophomore, but maybe that doesn't mean anything. -

How was that not goalie interference?!?!? Not exactly the best response from the others on the ice either IMHO. -
Does anybody have any idea if there will be a replay available of the ceremony? Unfortunately with Directv Center Ice, I don't get any pregame before 7:00 pm.

I would contend that BALANCED scoring is more important. Teams that have had success consistently get 3rd and 4th line scoring in the playoffs. -

I think of the 2018-2019 St. Louis Blues cup-winning team. I don't recall a superstar forward on that roster. ROR had a great post-season for sure, but he's not a "super-star" in my definition of the term. That may not be the only example, but yes I think a team can win without a $10MM+ forward. -
Did Eichel need to fly the coop to let Dahlin spread his wings

Agree....I think the departure of perhaps multiple players needed to happen for new leaders to emerge. I don't know if even Risto's presence could have been a factor as well. The new "room" with guys like Tuch and Okie may brought a different vibe encouraging more teamwork and accountability. -
Is Don Granato the best coach the Sabres have had since Lindy Ruff?

I'll admit I wasn't always sold on DG, but how can you maintain that any HC before him should have been kept? Even Disco Dan did not find success as a head coach post Buffalo. For the first time in a decade, I feel we have somebody in place who can get this team to the playoffs.
