  1. I find it kind of interesting to see that older netminders are still so common in the league today. Just looking at goalies who have played at least 23 games, the list of age 30+ looks something like below. We already have 2 of them, but wonder if there is anybody of quality in their early 30's to target for a couple years (ex. Kuemper)? Name Team Age Craig Anderson BUF 40 Mike Smith EDM 39 Marc-Andre Fleury MIN 37 Jonathan Quick LAK 35 Thomas Greiss DET 35 Cameron Talbot MIN 34 Sergei Bobrovsky FLA 33 James Reimer SJS 33 Mikko Koskinen EDM 33 Semyon Varlamov NYI 33 Frederik Andersen CAR 32 Dustin Tokarski BUF 32 Braden Holtby DAL 32 Jacob Markström CGY 31 Darcy Kuemper COL 31 Jake Allen MTL 31 Martin Jones PHI 31 Philipp Grubauer SEA 30 Robin Lehner VGK 30
  2. I'd like to think Asplund has more offensive upside than Eakin. There have been some flashes of this, whereas I can think of none for Eakin.
  3. Interesting...did not know they were connected.
  4. Anybody know if the Leaf's game is on regular MSG tomorrow? Hoping it's not ESPN+
  5. Trade his rights while his performance is still fresh in people's minds. He's already gone as a Sabre either way.
  6. Adams: "Don't answer that phone call from Erik P." 🙃
  7. A word I use elsewhere, but usually not here....today's game though feels like a collective "clusterf*ck"!
  8. Scheffler is a machine!
  9. RE: JBOT - so was Ryan Johnson, who may follow Portillo's example. We could end up losing both of them.
  10. Cal Petersen II (the sequel)
  11. Part of me think that Tyler Myers would not be a bad partner (RHD) for Power. The two of them could cover half the ice with their long reach 🙃
  12. Not seeing the game....what happened to Cozens?
  13. So what does Portillo do now? Devon Levi II or turn pro?
  14. Michigan seems out of sync since the PK's. They should just play for the end of regulation and regroup during the intermission and overtime.
  15. Bad call....looked like a lot of embellishment and clamping of the stick by the Denver player.
  16. There's something extra exciting about single-elimination playoff games...love the desperation as there is no tomorrow for one of these teams.
  17. Gotta admit, Denver plays a great team system... really minimizing Michigan's quality opportunities. Michigan may have more raw talent, but Denver is really fast and disciplined. TIE GAME
  18. I feel like he hasn't been relevant for a least a decade...maybe longer.
  19. Agree...my feelings for GMKA have changed since he was first announced. He may have lacked front office GM experience, but I do have a much greater appreciation for what he has done to redefine and change the team culture. In this case, maybe that is more important than the actual GM resume.
  20. Agree...as been discussed in other threads, good scenario if there can be a RHD prospect in return. I was not particularly happy when Botteril first drafted him and still hope he will prove me wrong. Maybe that can still happen, but I'd like to see him sign and go from there.
  21. Agree, the question I wonder about is who his partner will be? Will Granato leave him on the left side and partner with a RHD (ex. Joki), or maybe pair him with Dahlin (no idea who would play which side though). I'll just be happy to see him in blue and gold regardless.
  22. Don't have ESPN+, so been watching the Panthers/Leafs game. Toronto on fire in the early 2nd and bounced BOB out, Knight in relief. Panthers showing why they are the class of the east in their comeback. Samson with a 3 point night so far. Update - now tied at 6 as the Leafs scored a PP goal (Hagg penalty). Great game!
  23. Maybe a "Hobey" as well?
  24. Watching the Leafs/Lightning game tonight. Toronto leading 4-2 in the 2nd. Matthews with 2G's so far. Frankly the Leafs outplaying Tampa (in Tampa). If teams don't play a hard physical game against the Leafs, they may actually surprise some people in the playoffs. Lightning are trying to match the Leaf's speed and skill, and not looking too good. Whoever plays Toronto needs to bring a nasty physical game to slow them down.
