  1. So going back to something one of RJ's son's mentioned....does RJ live in Canada and has that always been the case?
  2. Vintage Skinner...score a goal from close inside and then get under the opposition's skin afterwards.
  3. Especially if he can hit 40...maybe an EN this game?
  4. I like Fitz's attitude, but he is really better suited for Rochester.
  5. Gotta love that our shorter stature guys are feisty and not afraid to talk @$#%! to the opposition.
  6. He's not had the season I expected, but maybe he'll surprise some people next year.
  7. Rocket!!! Anyone get the MPH on that one!?!? Puck exploded off of TNT's stick.
  8. You might get my attention if you include Marcus Foligno in the conversation.πŸ˜‰
  9. I too hate that our season is nearly over, but I am anxious to see what happens in July with the draft and other possible additions. Every off-season has some drama in terms of changes, but this is maybe the first summer where my optimism for next season is genuine.
  10. IMHO - chemistry and culture can be a fragile thing when a team is trying to find and build it (vs. having it already well-entrenched). Z brings an element of hard work and tenacity which is an attribute this young team needs to adopt as second nature. Z is relatively inexpensive and brings leadership to help guide this team. I like him on the 4th line and hope he can stick around.
  11. Do you think the Sabres have a chance of Jiricek being available with our first pick?
  12. Didn't Lafleur and Perreault play together for Team Canada once? I can't remember who the third line member was, but Gilbert was really flying until he had an unfortunate injury that tournament. RIP to the "Flower", a loss of another great one!
  13. Not a fair fight, Sam without question. In addition to the reasons above, Sam also goes to the more difficult places on the ice to create offense.
  14. I guess he didn't care about how well the Sharks have been doing as of late....they've lost 10 in a row and are in tank mode.
  15. Agree Vegas has a limited window to win with their current roster. With respect to Jack, I see him in Boston in 2026/2027 no matter what, as he will be a UFA and still in his 20's.
  16. Something that will be interesting to see in coming seasons is the health factor. I've felt that Jack was somewhat injury prone in the past, but I've also thought similarly about Tage. With Jack, I feel he played a lot of games injured and his effectiveness was compromised. Fast forward to this current season and Tage has been pretty durable this year. If this is not a fluke and his move to center enables him to stay more healthy, then that could be an unexpected benefit to the team.
  17. I love the river tour, I never realized it existed until after I moved away from the area. It is a great reminder of the city's history and heritage. With respect to the USS Sullivans, I personally am a fan of preserving our past whenever it is feasible to do so. It would be nice if there could be some options identified with estimated price tags so that a strategy could formulated.
  18. Hindsight is 20-20, but heck YES!!!
  19. My forbidden list includes Samuelsson as an untouchable (please).
  20. Great...maybe Tkachuk and Stutzle will see bottom 6 playing time and then want to get out of town (to Buffalo)😁
  21. This makes sense to me as well from a salary cap standpoint. We may be okay for a couple of seasons or so, but after that we're going to need cap space for retaining our young core. A shorter-term contract for a decent netminder will hopefully not hurt us later.
  22. Please educate me as I don't know this area at all. If he cannot play in the AHL and he's not ready for the NHL yet, where might he end up playing next season?
  23. There are so many factors which make a direct comparison difficult. One thing that does come to mind is that Skinner had success with both Jack and Tage. What would be interesting to me is how would Jack play with Skinner and Tuch today and how good he would be. Perhaps getting Stone back may provide some insight as to how Jack plays with a good power forward.
  24. A key difference in my mind is how Jack could control possession during a power play. Stats may prove me wrong, but our PP was better with a healthy Jack. I love Tage's game this year, though.
