The problem for me is that I don't even know the ref's anymore....who's fair, who's garbage. That plus you never hear their names during the game. Flood gates now open thanks to a garbage call changing the flow of the game.

IMHO, it would be the weakness we have in the #5 and #6. Although Joki would make a decent #5/#6 Exactly...mediocre goaltending talent can only work if you have a strong defense in front of you...both in talent and system.

Totally agree with the original post....GMKA truly has head in the ground or up his ***. Bargain basement & dumpster diving for the blue line and net minding will do nothing to get you over the hump (into the playoffs) and he is ignoring his fan base. In what century does he think his team will challenge for the cup?

I expect to be disappointed at the draft as well....as Adams will stick with his picks and they'll try to sell "hope" in 2027 if we can be patient. The only acquisitions will be dumpster diving specials.

So we lost Chychrun....who is left out there as a trade acquisition that can help us before the deadline now? Can Asplund play defense?

Wondering if Ottawa had lost both games to the Wings if they would have still made this trade. Winning those two games probably elevated their expectation for this season and they decided they're now "in" as far as competing for the playoffs.

Not happy.....so who's left that's out there that can improve our defense? I'm not including Karlsson, but is there anybody else who can help us defensively if GMKA takes his head out of his a$$?

To anybody with a better eye than mine....how is Quinn's skating compared to say a Sam Reinhart? Not trying to make any points, just curious if his skating is better, worse or the same.

By contrast....Ottawa was on the outside looking in. They have a critical 2 games against the Wings at home on consecutive nights. Their season may depend on the 2 games against the Wings. Fast forward to tonight....they slaughtered the "hot" wings last night and are cleaning their clocks again tonight. This is a good example of a team playing with desperation at home....meanwhile in Buffalo....yawn.

The only possible silver lining in this fiasco it that GMKA may no longer be delusional about this team, meaning he can't stand pat and expect to make the playoffs this year. Part of this is the lack of on ice personnel, but part of it is also the failure of coaching to get the players to stick to the basics in defending and shooting the puck.

They're dangerous and will be heard from before this regular season is over.
