  1. Here's the thing: If he were designated as the person who started the thread, he could delete it, right? But I am confident that he was not credited as the starter of that thread. Otherwise, it would have been a mod move. And the mods can reverse that, and bring back the old thread. I think that's the case, anyway. Oh, and jeffismagic's been ban-hammered.
  2. I think it's an intriguing idea, and would not quash it because of perceived enforcement concerns. They can figure out a way to enforce it.
  3. Wait. Is the old thread really gone?
  4. jeff is completely off the rails, and this thread is hilarious as a result. Full marks, right here.
  5. I see. I'm all for an exhuming of old writings that tend to put Brandon under a microscope.
  6. Ooooooh. Dude. These ideas are good ones! This one here specifically seems like a nice balance to strike.
  7. I legit lol'd. There's something of Hamlet's antic disposition afoot with WildCard of late.
  8. Good thought experiment indicated here. The thing that had occurred to me was also related to basketball. They outlawed zone or most zones in the NBA, right? The NHL should look at something like that. Something that will tend to open up the game more. Who doesn't wanna see Eichel in an isolation with a hapless 5/6 d-man? It's crazy. But I like sorta it.
  9. The what now?
  10. I think I understand that, for some/many, this sort of unbridled dewy-eyed optimism is a little tongue in cheek, a little jokey. I guess I'm thinking Wildcard. And also of myself, frankly. And maybe Flagg? Anyhoo. It occurred to me a in a brief flash just now (a mental one -- not a creep in a trench coat): What's the harm or downside in being on board (fully or otherwise), at least until the wheels come off? It's fun. I like fun. KORAB! (Thanks, Patches.)
  11. I'm gonna agree.
  12. The quote from Jack really is fantastic. It really doesn't make sense.
  13. I recognize that song. Hadn't realized it was him. I am most partial to his time with Crimson. I also remember the unabashed attempt at getting some run on FM Radio when he recorded "Oh, Daddy Daddy."
  14. ^ thanks kindly.
  15. I reacted samewise. Patches! Ties to the glory years. Also: Wasn't he somehow caught up in that gambling fiasco with Vanek?
  16. Word.
  17. Even the most cynical Bills fan can't help but enjoy this lady's work: I would have felt that way before the latest round of offerings. I'm not so sure now.
  18. Admirable. And a bit strange. Sort of like you, I would imagine. :P
  19. That went over my head as well. Emojis will help with comprehension.
  20. Local paper ran a piece on how this tournament could be the start of big things for Nylander. Not so much. For my purposes, I'm planning to banish most thoughts of him and will only hope to hear encouraging reports from his time in Rochester.
  21. Christ. Is Tolbert really going to be the change-of-pace 10 or 15-touch back? I guess he is. jeff had that call largely correct, I reckon.
  22. We may be saying the same thing, but, I think that, by most conventional standards, McDavid would be considered fairly handsome.
  23. I'll take issue with "ugly," since he's more ... non-standard-looking or even unusual-looking than straight up ugly. /inserts "can't tell if serious staring" meme.
  24. I'm less stuck on a fixed number. If he gets 80 points, but only plays 74 games, then he'd have projected to 88 points over 82 games, which I think would be a success in most people's eyes.
  25. Good post. I would say to this, though: It looked like the Chiefs chose not to generate pressure a lot of the time. They rushed three, dropped 8, and forced Brady to beat them. Nice. Don't forget the avocado ice cream.
