Fair frickin' point. And isn't one of the guys in Roch trying to make the show also non-white? Or did we trade that guy? ice cold. -

I frickin love Ted Lasso. Also, I just heard that Arena stepped down from the USMNT. Thankful for that, I guess. But I think bigger changes are in order. -

I showed up for a metaphysical debate on the role of democratic virtues in the context of internet message boards. Disappointed. My inner 11 year-old is quietly (silently) intrigued that the team's superstar is paired with two light-skinned black guys. Not for any good reason. I just can't deny that, inside, I'm like "heyyyy. cool." I am a dork. Edit: Why did I even feel the need to type that? God. I'm an idiot. Really? I find their stuff out of the original store to be totally fine. Not great. But fine. I effing love this. -
I'm not saying he needs to do anything. Nor am I suggesting that the convenient narrative of the #bluecollar ethos is accurate. I am saying that Taylor has a very low-key, quiet manner that can come off as aloof. I am saying that he has at times deflected personal responsibility for failings that seemed to be his own. And I am saying that he goes to fashion events in NYC and dresses like this. I'm not slagging the guy for 2 of those 3 personality traits, but I am saying that he's just not the sort of guy that the Bills rabid fan base will eagerly embrace. And I don't think that fan base has a fixed set of criteria for showing the love -- they've given their hearts to a pretty diverse set of characters over the last 30 years or so.

Can Pu play in Rochester?
-
IMO, part of the reason that Taylor hasn't received a true #BillsMafia backing is because he comes off as aloof and a bit too cool for school -- not a man of the people. I'm not saying that's the way he is -- just a matter of how he comes off.

I don't entirely disagree with what you're saying up top: That Tampa offence is loaded and stacked (it's weird that they are 2-4), and they are going to get their yards (and points). That said, there just wasn't enough pressure on the passer (during drop-backs where the line could have gotten there) and those blown coverages for TDs are true head-scratchers. The late fumble recovery was great, obviously, but I've heard and read good insight to the effect that placing performance-value on fumble recoveries is largely a mistake. Fumble recoveries are as much, if not more, a product of luck as they are good play (the forced fumble is, I suspect, a fair barometer of good play -- the recoveries just tend to be randomized). It's nice that the Bills have been lucky. They just need to get back to being good (or very good) on D as well. And yes: The team is so very likable.

This has always been, and remains now, sound advice. Not just for teh interwebs either. If multiple people are saying to you, "dude, you're being a bit of a ______", then there is an excellent chance you ARE in fact being a _______ . Sabres enviro promos have taught me: Blue and Gold make Green. -
I'll say that turnovers are a fickle mistress. Agreed on the initial point, and more than fair with regard to the latter. I'd just really like to see the D step up (again) in the next game. If they're down two starters on that back end, that could be a really tall order -- especially given how Carr looked on Thursday.
-
Yeah - the D has been throwing oil the past 2 games. Dareus just can't get out of town soon enough. He always seemed like a lovable lunk, but, really -- take your 10s of millions and hit the bricks. He's that classic example of a guy who should not have been paid that sort of money. As for the QB remark, I won't go that far -- but there's no sense in denying credit where it's due. Tyrod was key to winning the game yesterday in the 4th quarter.

Welcome news, but an awful surprise based on what I thought would happen as of mid-August. We have an Evertonian in the home, and he's been super bummed about how things have gone -- especially given the talent that was introduced to the squad. -

I suppose we all should have anticipated KO having something of a road to travel in order to get back. -
I know the team has been 4-2 and 5-1 in the past 17 years, but, for whatever reason, this edition of the Bills seems different. I'm still concerned that the offence is the product of smoke, mirrors, and duct tape. But they keep finding a way to get it done. The Raiders will be coming in rested, off a huge win. It should be another tough test.

The right idea.

A guy 2 rows down from me just took to hollering “SKATES!” for every time a pass went into a teammate’s skates. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. My take: That comes down to focus and attention to detail. Maybe system plays a role — not sure where players are going to be, etc. But, to my untrained eye, it looked like poor focus. Yes 3x. That Rolston rush with 15 and 9 was more than I could bear. Bailey’s working his arse off, but I’m not sure he’s apt to be a full-time NHLer on a good team. Maybe? Something is rotten in the state of Samson. I don’t give a fig what the advanced metrics say about last night. Put him back with 15 stat. -

I was there, and sat in the Chet and Muffy seats with a good, active group of fans. All around me: Howls of absolute disbelief. Also, Tennyson? Eee gads. -

Wise words. A fire sale would be counter productive. Good post. But in re Reinhart’s post draft WHL season: It was widely discussed how he was intentionally sacrificing production for development and NHL readiness. Even so: He looked like a do nothing ho hum out there tonight. -
