  1. I've seen that on Twitter, I think? Or here? Adams is a kid in a trench coat standing on another kid's shoulders. Daddy, chill. Will Lindy care about such matters? Probably not. Could he, though? As part of some of "strip it all down, back to basics" type approach? Maybe.
  2. That's an interesting point. That said, Regier came to the Sabres eminently qualified. Adams? I just don't take the guy seriously as a GM.
  3. That is all very fair and considered. And probably mostly true. This is purely a vibe check. It just seems like Lindy is the guy in charge -- even if he's playing nice with Opie from the Andy Griffith Show.
  4. Agree to disagree on this one. Me? I'm #TeamSamuelReinnhardt Besides. How many Cups has Perreault won? Also, I'm pretty sure that Perreault was the 11th overall pick -- that's why he wore the number throughout his career.
  5. Samuel Reinnhardt was kind enough to take a picture with my youngest when we bumped into him at the Fuddruckers on Maple Road. I know of whom I speak. Best 1st overall pick the Sabres ever had.
  6. You elsewhere chided @LGR4GM for calling some posters here bitter about Okposo's winning a Cup. Bro. This is some bitter stuff.
  7. Interesting question. Lindy is the alpha in the organ-eye-zation now. It's his club. I can see him squashing that sort of thing.
  8. Some would say Eichel is the team's best ever first overall pick. I disagree with that proposition, however.
  9. Samuel Reinnhardt - the Sabres' best first overall pick in franchise history.
  10. My cold heart melted when I saw Okposo with the Cup. That said, the dude is still a mumble mouthed dipsh1t for allowing the (his) team to "retaliate" against the fans for their chants of organizational unrest.
  11. Florida's team defense was something to behold. There were several times during the game where Edmonton was dominating play -- and I'd look up at the SOG and Edmonton was stuck on 12 or whatever they had for half of the second period. The Oilers were flying around, looking dangerous, but how many pucks did Bob actually have to stop? Not that many, it turns out. Also, I'm sure it was mentioned upthread, but the GWG was a leaky bit of business. Nice work by Samuel Reinnhardt, though, for sure.
  12. They had a chance to call a timeout with ~35 seconds left. Not in an ideal situation -- coming from an offside they committed. But I still wonder why they didn't.
  13. Is this where the Ullmark to Ottawa trade news goes?
  14. I will second this. The move might be to give the prepared dish a drizzle with the good stuff.
  15. Good for you. I wound up with tons of noise.
  16. And for sure: Let's Go, Oilers. I really, really want to see them come back from 3-0. And I enjoy greatness -- so I'm all for McDavid getting a Cup (or 2) in his career. Lastly, I've started to take an undeniable pleasure in seeing former Sabres looking skyward in disbelief that they've frittered away a 3-0 series advantage (Montour specifically). I am not proud of this. But I won't deny it either. if you noodle around on Twitter searching for oilers girl, you will find it eventually. quite spectacular. and her vibe about it -- both during the stunt and then, more soberly, afterward -- have all checked out for me. Edit: I take it back. There is so much noise on Twitter now on this topic - there's no finding it easily there.
  17. That was an absolutely glorious front yard, sir. Far from garbage.
  18. UPL got extended? Is there not a separate thread for that?
  19. Great thread. One thing I didn't see mentioned upthread -- if you're looking for more garlic punch -- you should consider adding some later in the cooking process. The sauteing (sp?) to which you're referring (which sounds lovely btw) is mellowing the garlic. If you want some of that vampire-repelling kick (say it with me: HI, MY NAME'S HARVEY, FROM HOUSTON), I think some less-cooked fresh chopped garlic would help. And as others have noted: Salting to taste will help everything else pop. Shoutout the spinach suggestion from @SwampD. That sounds fantastic. (If working with frozen, just make sure to wring it out well with a tea towel. I love working with the fresh stuff because it's like, "holy crap, I need a larger kitchen just to accommodate all this leafy green goodness," and then, put it in the heated mix and BAM, it's reduced to like a cup.) Finally, this dish does not appear compliant with the life changing dietary path illuminated by @matter2003. Govern yourself accordingly. (Which mostly means: Keep your shirt on at the beach.)
  20. Perhaps to get to some player that they value way, way higher than the Sabres do? With the NHL especially, I get the sense that, once you get outside that first tier of undisputed prized prospects, there's a legitimate muddle among the next ~40 (?) prospects -- where Team A could have a player at 35 on its board and Team B could have the same player at 12.
  21. I missed the flow of the chatter upthread about teachers. Put me in the camp of admiring the hell out of what those folks do and believing that most (or even nearly all) of them are underpaid for what they do.
  22. And, lo, from the scorched earth there emerged an olive branch. Take it easy on the ladies’ necks, beefcake.
