What an odd thing to say. I hope she gets plenty of coverage. She’s too thin to be @inkman‘s type, but she could put me through a bag skate any day of the week. (lol - just kidding. I’d die if I had to do even the lamest, easiest bag skate.) (also, please don’t cancel me for finding her attractive.)

Sabres Sign Jason Zucker to a One Year 5 Million AAV Deal

Wait - I reflexively thought this was a riff from May Day. But no. Is this an actual call? -

Does/did Kelly in fact possess a tremendous football IQ? I think the Bills would have a Super Bowl if he did. Jeremy Jacobs somewhat infamously confessed to a group of colleagues that he marveled at how … well … how dumb Ray Borque was. I presume that Borque had excellent hockey IQ? -
It appears that 4-6 weeks ago, there were reports saying she was likely to be hired by Bylsma as an assistant coach. Now it's happened.

Well - I feel like the Kraken announcement regarding this female coach was made 4-6 weeks ago ... now it's being made again?

fair point.

I'm glad I caught tweb's post - I'd missed it initially. Which is to say -- Opie Adams has been in a Tijuana brothel for four years, but he's still struggling to figure out how to dock his d1ck at a receptive port.

Better late than never. I accompanied my better half to Sarah McLachlan's show at Artpark last month. (It was a billion degrees out.) It was a great show - she was featuring the entirety of her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy album. One thing that surprised, and frankly delighted me, about McLachlan. That gal's got a potty mouth. So, when she dropped gratuitous f-bombs during her between song banter, and that vulgar language stood in contrast to her ethereal beauty (see the pic), I must say ... I was digging it.

Hmm. I hadn't previously considered this. It would explain a lot.

In the beginning, there were 4 lines. Then we had top 6, bottom 6. The concept of middle 6 emerged at some point. At one point, I recall seeing talk of the top 9. Is top 7 a thing now as well? And whodat? Is it that player who resides just outside the top 6 and is ready to move up the lineup when needed? If such a player were a centre, it would call to mind Derek Roy circa 2005-2007 (iirc, he centred the third line (that thing was deadly) but then would slide up to play wing with Drury?).

Effing awful is what it is. JFC - can this franchise catch one gotdam break.

What about Colter? Colters have started to emerge. I think it's a riff on Colton? Same with the name Bodie (which, if I write it as Bodies -- it looks like a very different word). I feel like Brody came before Bodie. One of my all-time favourite stupid human moments in the last several years: I took one of the kids to an accepted students day at a college, and there was a current student who was leading some sort of activity. His name was Brody. But they'd printed his name tag as Body. I still talk and laugh about it.

I will not soon tire of -- nor fail to capitalize on -- SDS's having granted me (us) license to compare Kevyn Adams to a virginal young man who's lived in a Tijuana brothel for the past four years.

Are they, in fact, prepared to shuttle Reimer between Buffalo and Rochester (and expose him to waivers each time)? (Nobody else wanted him as of July 1st, but that's bound to change once other teams' needs start to change.) Or are they poised for a reboot of carrying three goalies? In either event, it's again starting to feel a bit like Adams is fumbling for his d1ck in the dark.
-
As a Buffalo sports fan, I do well to remain ignorant of the political views of my favourite teams' players.
-
I'm encouraged because many posters here whose opinions I respect are encouraged. That said, I can't help but reflect on how this move tends to suggest that Adams was a teenager fumbling for his d1ck (stick tap @SDS) when he force fed Levi minutes as a rookie. What a debacle. A season laid to waste, right out of the gate. I first read this as "dispense" and was like damn.

Sabres Sign Defensemen Dennis Gilbert and Jacob Bryson

I’ll admit to being stuck in a crisis of confidence regarding Adams. As for your metaphor of choice: Are we on the brink of Kevyn making sweet, sweet love to us? Or should we be concerned that he’s contracted debilitating venereal diseases? Both? But a teenage virgin can eventually f**k like a champ. -
Not sure. Whatever it is, it’s not predicated on having 2 of the best 5 centres in the world. Man. It can be easy to forget how good his offensive 5v5 numbers are. Welp. (Here we go!)
-
I like the group we’ve got right now, says Adams. He’s managing expectations and hedging against the possibility that this is essentially his training camp roster. If he doesn’t swing a trade for a middle-6 centre, I will have lost faith before the season even starts. lol at this Zemgus take. He’s apparently good enough to be a 4th liner/13th forward on a real NHL team.
-
Playing with two of the world’s best centres, Skinner will probably feast. He was not a fit with what the Sabres are trying to build.

This struck me as such a sad thing. “The bad news is, your team hired a totally unqualified person to serve as GM. The good news is, he’s going to stick around for so long that eventually he'll have some idea of how to do the job.” -

I’m not saying that’s the case. But when your favourite team’s GM — whose main credential before becoming the team’s GM was managing the owner’s hockey facility — is using familiar nicknames with a hometown signing and extolling the local junior hockey team … It just seems so small-minded. So parochial. A 13 year playoff drought will do that to a guy. -

It has hints of one of Pegula’s worst tendencies: “I know that guy. Good guy. Let’s hire that guy.” Adams was gushing at his press conference about having lots of Junior Sabres on the ice today. I don’t give a sh1t about that, Kevyn. -

So many regrettable episodes over the past 13+ years.
