  1. I voted everyone is part of the solution. Here's why. No trade or set of trades will change anything. We've seen it a million times. They make a trade, it briefly sparks the team, then they end up in the same old rut but also down a good promising player or two who eventually blossoms with their new team and we all lament what could have been. That has to stop. Making deals to move veterans who "no longer want to be here" also has to stop. Management needs to send the message that this is it... this is the roster, this is your coaching staff. Figure it out or be the laughing stock of the league... that's on nobody but the players. The only finger pointing needs to be at themselves. Find a way to do better or accept the fact you'll get boo'd on home-ice on your way to another lost season. The young core needs this pressure to grow... knowing that nodody is going to bail them out, it's on them.. not the owner, not the GM, not the head coach.
  2. It's always darkest before the dawn. Today is the day. Mark this date in Sabres history as the day the franchise resurrected itself from the depths of hockey hell, and began it's march forward to Stanley Cup glory.
  3. Benson just not big and strong enough to stay on his skates. Nice try tho.

  5. My 3 step process to bring this franchise back from the dead. Hire an experienced hockey mind as POHO. Let him evaluate the executive team (GM, exec assistants, etc..) and make a call on Kevyn and his staff members. Hire a new GM, or give Kevyn and his staff the resources/authority he needs to do his job and provide him with some strategic direction. Trade some undersized prospects for grit and experience, specifically a stay-at-home veteran defenseman to pair with Power. Power 's development is crucial to this team's success. He's still young for a defenseman, but he needs a mentor, somebody to learn from who he can trust and will cover up his mistakes. Coaching staff. The power play is historically bad. Move on from Appert immediately. Start the search for a new head coach and put Lindy on notice. Unfair? Too bad, 8 consecutive losses? He likes to talk about accountability, we'll he needs to be held accountable himself.... tough titty. Give him until Christmas to right the ship, or ring in the new year with a new HC rather than letting another season go to waste like they've done for the past 13 years.
  6. Buffalo jumps out to a 3-0 lead. The Rangers claw their way back, taking a 4-3 lead midway through the final frame. Boos rain down from the rafters. Sabres tie it up with under 7 minutes to play thanks to a one timer by Byram. Benson draws a holding penalty with under 5 on the clock. On the ensuing power play, Power fumble fucks the puck at the blueline sending Trocheck in all alone who neatly tucks it behind UPL for the game winner. Or... is tonight the night they right the ship and begin their march towards Lord Stanley's prized cup?
  7. i was off by one game, tonight is the night.

  9. Kevyn and TP talk about typical GM stuff... potential roster moves, deals, callups, just bouncing ideas and whatnot off TP. Who's really driving the bus tho? That said, what they're desperately in need of is an actual President of Hockey Operations, someone who is responsible for the strategic direction of the team and to monitor the GM. That role is currently filled by TP. That's the issue. I can't imagine Kevyn enjoys having the owner hover over every decision he makes, it's probably miserable.. to be honest.
  10. ....for me it's watch out of curiousity, like a watching a busy intersection at rush hour waiting for an accident to happen.
  11. This trend of drafting and developing players, then trading them just before they hit their stride.. has got to stop. Cozens is going through a slump, so is Quinn. It's 26 games into the season. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
  12. The Bills are a great franchise in spite of Terry. The Sabres are a lousy franchise directly because of Terry.
  13. Let me save you some time... "We've seen some growth and flashes of what type of team we're trying to be. We're much closer than we were a year ago. We've set forth the goal, now we just need to find that consistency in our game... blah blah blah young team blah blah blah Lindy this Lindy that... it takes time with a new coach but I truly believe they're starting to understand and we're not as far away as some may think based on our record.... still have tremendous trust in Lindy and his staff... blah blah"

  15. Johnson > Bryson
  16. They have more goals in the first 12min then the past 3 games combined.
  17. Saw the Wild in person a few weeks ago. They're for real, set your expectations accordingly 😳 That said, with a win tonight and losses by both FLA and TBL, Buffalo would find themselves in 2nd place in the Atlantic.

  19. newsflash.... he's good 😂 And he's doing all this at 2 days removed from his 22nd birthday Locking him up for 7 years at $8.5m was one of KA's better decisions. Sure he could be more physical and make better decisions, but he's still a baby when it comes to defesemen. He'll continue to develop.
  20. When you take a draw, you can go overhand or underhand (with your bottom hand). Overhand grip you're most likely trying to pull it back on your backhand side, underhand (normal grip) your likely going strong side. Putting your stick down first gives your opponent the opportunity to counter your tendencies before the puck is dropped.
  21. A few in person observations... McLeod's skating and smarts really stood out. Impressive player. Benson looks like he's gained some speed and quickness from last season. Tuch looks like he's playing hurt. UPL was fantastic... positionally sounds, absorbed pucks, used his athleticism when required and battled to see shot lanes.
  22. which jersey should i wear to the game tonight? - old goathead (no name plate, #3... was gary galley iirc) - eichel anniversary - blank away white - white Allen - blue Allen - none of the above - all of the above
