  1. You can't win the lottery without winning the draw... and those chances are 200/1001. Sure the difference is trivial, but it exists.
  2. True. But those chances (all teams) are not as advertised by the league.
  3. There is a statistical probability that the 1001st combination keeps coming up over and over for eternity, which means nobody ever gets McDavid. Again, if they removed that 1001st number from the draw, then it would be right, 200/1000, but they can't do that, so each draw is 200/1001. Doesn't matter if that 1001st number is a re-draw, it still a "non-win" for Buffalo.
  4. ...and the pre-draft combine (June 1-6) is in Buffalo? Did we know that? I think we did. anyway it will interesting to see how McDavid and Eichel matchup strength and fitness wise. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=761694 But that combination is still a possibility in the redraw, it's not thrown out. So each re-draw, the possibility of one of Buffalo's 200 numbers coming up is still 200/1001, or 19.98%.
  5. The fact that the 1001st combination is a possibility, reduces the odds of all teams by 0.02%. They're not removing the possibility of that number coming up, so it must be factored in.
  6. So Buffalo gets 200 out of 1001 combinations, which is 19.98%..... NOT 20% as the league is advertising. If Buffalo loses the lottery we can file a class action lawsuit against the league for defrauding the fans out of a 0.02% chance at McDavid.
  7. Tomorrow the NHL will publish the list of lottery numbers to teams. I'm interested to see what team gets the 1001st combination... if any.
  8. For me it was the Miller/Ott trade. You knew the tank was real at that moment, and seeing Vinz on a jersey was a sign of things to come.
  9. Based on this I prefer Eichel.... ..can McDavid do that? This goes back to the whole "Eichel is playing against men and McDavid is playing against teenagers" argument. I think Eichel jumps right in and conributes immediately in a big way due to his strength and size. McDavid probably gets pushed around a bit until he fills out in a few seasons.
  10. Lack = Elite
  11. This why Bettman will give us McDavid.
  12. There's a better chance of them trading down to two than being able to trade up to two.
  13. Grigorenko and Reinhart will be in Roch to start the season. Larsson earned his spot. Reinhart needs his man body. McEichel Larsson Girgensons Ellis
  14. All NCAA sports programs have tutors to make sure all the school work is done and whatnot... it's just part of the program. I find it very hard to believe he's not up to snuff academically. In fact, here's an actual source which indicates he's trying to figure out a way to take his exams and still play in the World Championships in early May.... http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/12/report-eichel-invited-to-join-team-usa-at-worlds/
  15. bogus The only thing I could find was a reddit post with somebody claiming to hear it from Jack himself that he had a 0.9 GPA and was on academic probation... with no source to back it up other than "from the horses mouth". So yeah, let's start spreading rumors that he's a dunce.... nice.
  16. Like I said, it's not a black or white thing. It's a materialistic thing... so yeah, call me materialist-ist. Anybody here doesn't think Evander Kane is materialistic? C'mon!
  17. Who's the racist? I know a lot of white people who like gold chains and Air Jordans.... jesus, it's not like I said fried chicken and watermelon.
  18. How is that racist? Kane likes the bling and all that stuff, so he would probably take that as payment for the number. Last year Eichel front-squatted 320 pounds, cleaned 335 pounds, had a close-grip bench press of 250 pounds, a pull-up max of 25 reps, with a a body fat percentage of 6.3 percent. Here he is two years ago... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F51ngAUi4JE I think he'll take whatever number he wants.
  19. Evander Kane can off. Eichel gets #9. He can give him a gold chain or pair of Air Jordans for it.
  20. You're reading too much into this. Murray didn't hire him. He did thank "management". At least he issued a statement and thanked people, unlike LaFontaine and his disappearing act.
  21. With McEichel in the fold, I think one or both of Larsson or Grigorenko getmoved in a deal for a big burly winger who can put up 15-20 geno's.... like a Scott Stevens (Mario) or Craig Simpson (Gretzky). Maybe that guy is Foligno, who knows, but With McEichel, Reinhart and Girgensons down the middle, there's extra pieces to flip for help at wing.... or a veteran quarterback for the PP, to tutor the young guys.
  22. https://www.bostonherald.com/sports/college/on_campus/2015/04/jack_eichels_plans_unknown_after_bu_loss “It would be another great year of development, college hockey and life with coach (David) Quinn,” Eichel said. “There are positives to it any way you look at it. At the end of the day, when a decision has to be made, I will make it with my family and with my heart. I don’t want to be somewhere that I don’t want to be.”
