  1. Define "ready". IMO Kulich is more ready than Benson... it's not just about points.
  2. Non-contact jersey? He could still be weeks away from being cleared for contact. I'll predict both him and Benson are shipped back to juniors before the end of the weekend. It's the right thing to do. They're not physically ready for the rigors of an NHL season.
  3. IMO juniors is the best place for him... he'll continue to excel and gain even more confidence while being a leader on his team.... a team that should be a top contender in the WHL.
  4. He could be, but don't forget... Point spent 2 seasons in junior after he was drafted. Last thing you want to do is ruin his confidence or force him to play a different style because he's not strong enough on the puck.
  5. I'm legit surprised Benson is still up there with Skinner and Thompson. How does Tuch feel about this playing down on the 3rd line with Greenway? R. Johnson deserves the 7th D spot, but he needs to be playing big minutes at this point in his career, so he should start his first pro season in Roch.
  6. Benson will be bigger, stronger faster next year. This is preseason hockey, the intensity will ramp up significantly in the regular season. Kulich is a much stronger player, I'm not concerned about him getting out muscled on the half wall. Benson simply isn't there yet physically and that's OK.
  7. He's flashed, but there are things he needs to work on. This team is ready to contend, they don't have the luxury of breaking in an 18 year old while in win now mode. Maybe 2 years ago he makes the team, but at this point I'm not sure you can slot him in to the top 9. And that's not a knock on him whatsoever.
  8. Johnson flashed, he'll play big minutes in Roch to round out his game before getting a call up... much better for his development vs slotting in as the 6th, 7th or 8th on the big club. I'm done with UPL he ain't it and hasn't flashed. Send him to Roch. Comrie should easily win the backup job. Power... first game back after a long summer to recover from 18 months of non-stop hockey. He'll be fine. Cozens... expected more. Krebs... looks bigger, stronger, more assertive, happy with his development. Bryson... smell ya.
  9. I was most impressed by Johnson, he's probably the first call-up option. Benson plays a very mature game but his lack of speed showed... even against a mostly AHL roster. He'll need to get faster and stronger before he suits up in the regular season.
  10. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
  11. Only 4 of the 7 are on sabres.com
  12. Zegras is a key piece of the Ducks core moving forward. They're rebuilding with youth, but for them it's also a priority to have a few key veterans around to mentor the kids. As per my source (who works for the Ducks), 0% chance they trade Zegras or Drysdale.
  13. Yes I mean, it's every teams goal to win the Cup every year, is it not? What do you expect KA to say to the media? Internally, realistically their goal is just to make the playoffs. Once they get there, the goal obviously changes.
  14. UPL
  15. This report is bunk... but at the time I was hoping they'd take Zegras instead of Cozens. That said, I'm glad they took Cozens, he has more compete and is a better overall player, what the Sabres needed.
  16. Are any pre-season games televised, or streaming via reddit, 4chan, silk road, warez, geocities, napster, winamp, netscape, real player, VLC, zune, my space, listserv, freenet, etc....?
  17. TBH not a fan of the design with "BUFFALO" in the light of the light sabre but whatever. Hope he goes 82-0 with 82 straight shutties.
  18. Looked bad. On the backcheck he reached out with his left arm to defend the player in front of the net and it appears to get caught up as he moved past the player, hyper-extended elbow or dislocated shoulder would be my guess.
  19. Re-locate the Coyotes to the expansion city.
  20. Walmart Mike Weber -12 TRPM last season, worst on the Bruins
  21. I was a valet in the summers at a local restaurant. He used to come in now and then.... he'd pop outside every hour or so, light up a dart and hang out w/ us. Couldn't understand how he was able to do what he did and smoke so much.

  23. Funny..... my source is beating the same drum. Heard Bettman is looking south... OKC, HOU, KC. Hold up on Dahlin contract is due to the fact that a pricey long term deal will make it more difficult to sell the team. If a sale can't be arranged soon, they're exploring all optiions... including playing the 2024/25 season at Holiday Twin Rinks or Sabreland.
