Probably because it gets in the way of making the point he wants to make.

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game
MichFan replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
Sir Alex is a legend, he will be missed. -
LOL at all the Stafford haters! Ridiculous that Buffalo went into a hornets nest of emotion tonight and pulled out a win. Oh well, fun game.
-
So will anyone else acknowledge that Stafford had a good game last night? Solid forechecking, good puckhandling, created some decent scoring chances on his line, threw some checks, played a more physical style of game everyone wants to see from him, even had some nice shifts on the PK.
-
This post game report on NBCSP is so pathetic. Total hacks. A whole segment talking about how NJ really should have won and Miller cheated on the Elias attempt to steel the game. Wah-freaking-wah.
-
I thought Leo had turned things around after returning from the injury, but he has been pretty shaky tonight.
-
Leino and Leo brought some poise to that PP, Ott added the grit and the finishing touch, Myers ... well he had a front row seat for all that.
-
How bizarre, it's an away game and people are debating Buffalo's home crowd. Here's a tip, they won't have any impact on tonight's game ;)
-
The booing came at the end of a PP where the Sabres couldn't even cross the blue line for the last minute.
-
This team is so out of sync with each other. It's like there is no game plan, no strategy.
-
Not the fairest of times to make that assessment. Third game in four nights, no Vanek, three guys from Roch.
-
Stafford actually did a nice job on the PK in the 1st period (ducks)
-
4th, but he was out a lot. I know ... I'm exaggerating.
-
Why does Gerber have to have a penalty in nearly every game?
-
I don't think you let Regier make another move with this team.
-
Yes, the fans at least deserve to see players who are willing to play hard.
-
I have consistently said he is giving us great value for a #6-7 defender, so I don't understand where you get the idea I'm suggesting he is a top 4 defender. He has been playing better than most of our top 4 so far this season.
-
Love the facts to back up your position there. We have two defenseman at -7 (Myers and Leo), are you suggesting they have been playing better than Sulzer? Regehr and Sekera have been banged up and missed games. Weber has been up and down with his play. Sulzer has been steady, has scored a couple of goals and has created some nice opportunities. As our #6-7 defender he is outplaying most of the higher rated defenders. I can't believe people are debating one of the few players who is actually playing up to his expectations.
-
That's absolutely crazy. Sulzer has been our second best defender this season and is delivering great value for his contract numbers. He's one of only two regular defenders with a positive +/-. Possibly the best two moves Regier has made lately (trading for and then resigning), and probably an afterthought at that. Not a star, but the kind of steady defender you need to build depth.
-
How can you call our first line a good line when Pommers is -2 and Hodgson is -3? Is it because between the 4-5 defensive zone blunders and turnovers per game each of these guys produce, they manage to score an occasional goal? I don't see the first line as a chemistry line. Vanek alone makes it work. Pommers and Hodgson are replaceable. Hodgson may have some upside since he is still young. Pommers has peaked. I agree with OP, if there is value offered, move him. I feel the same way about all but 6 players (Vanek, Miller, Ehrhoff, Sulzer, Kaleta, maybe Ennis).

GAME DISCUSSION THREAD GDT: Buffalo at Toronto (2/21/2013, 7:00pm)
MichFan replied to Corp000085's topic in Archive
Just a miserable effort. I can't believe how terrible this team is. At least Lindy didn't have to watch this BS from the bench tonight. I don't think I can watch this team anymore. Sucks when we seem to care so much more than most of the players. -
Most definitely ... thank you Lindy.
-
Disgraceful effort tonight. What a waste of time. Haven't been so disgusted with the Sabres in a long time. This team has very little heart.
-
Unfortunately this is what I expected to see tonight. I hoped they might bring some momentum and a nasty edge after the Pittsburgh game and Miller's outburst. But momentum and nasty edge are words that don't fit this year's Sabres. Tonight's effort so far is a new low.
-
Lindy is a great coach, but he is not the right fit for this year's team. I think Lindy was best when he had teams with players that were undervalued and played with a chip on their shoulders. There were a bunch of these guys on the roster early in his tenure. Darcy did well bringing in more guys who fit this mold like Drury and Briere. Today's Sabres are a far cry from the teams that Lindy was so effective with. If anything most are overpaid for the results they produce, they seem to lack desire and there is no accountability for poor performance (beyond getting benched for a couple of games). I don't even see how Lindy can like this team, which is probably why he looks so miserable all the time. Pegula doesn't seem to be coming to terms with this -- either Darcy has brought in the wrong players or he is sticking with the wrong coach. Regardless of all the organizational teamwork and consensus building that occurred during the offseason, the business has failed and the leader now needs to lead. Something needs to be done soon, or else this season will be a total waste and we will be rebuilding in year 3 when we were supposed to be winning a cup.
