  1. Kind of the point when you're tanking!
  2. You can blame what is happening now on Darcy, but it doesn't help the case in your attempt to label him a weasel. He outright told everyone that this was going to happen.
  3. That's why TM is a genius, with all the moves he made there is no way he can be accused of losing on purpose, even though he really is. The Sabres were going to be a bad team this year no matter what was done during the offseason, GMTM knew it all along. This is what happens when you strip a team down to the bare bones, and it's not a surprise that fans are frustrated with this reality because it's an approach that's never been tried before in Buffalo. The putrid decay of the carrion is a breath of fresh air to me.
  4. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/penguins-questions/2009/12/17/Did-the-Pens-tank-the-83-84-season-to-get-Lemieux/stories/200912170417
  5. I'd much rather take the shot at the Chicago model rebuild and risk becoming a perpetual bottom feeder than remain the Sabres we once knew.
  6. The tank being over and the team being competitive are not the same thing. How many times ...oh never mind.
  7. A dominating performance. A CHL statement game.
  8. Plus we have the option of blowing up an already sinking ship by trade at any given time.....Myers, Steward, Stafford etc. Carolina may very well sell at the deadline, but they simply can't afford to send the message of giving up on the season early to their already pissed off and staying at home fan base.
  9. Riding the $50 I threw on the Sabres last night to a $2k weekend. Awesome.
  10. Serious as a heart attack. I want no part of either generational talent here and having all the "fans" re-emerge from the woodwork. It would be unbearable.
  11. Agree 100%. Take Eichel...let McDavid go to Winnipeg or Arizona. No McEichel in Carolina. No. No. No!!!
  12. I did a cousin Eddie montage costume a few years ago. I did the white sweater with green dickie and white dress shoes. I also carried around a six pack of cheap beer to pay homage to the original Vacation. I asked others if they could use a beer, if they said yes I handed them the one I was drinking out of and opened a new one for myself.
  13. Richard & Sal got in a pretty good Rusty Kuntz prank call a few weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z29sp5_vnyo
  14. Yep. #obamaebolazombiehug There's no fighting mass ignorance.
  15. Aides do 95% of the work in routine situations. This is not a routine situation and it never will be in this country, even if thousands are infected. In Africa your scenario holds water.
  16. Ahh what the hell we've been over this hundreds of times already, but what's once more.... This is as it should be with teams that are likely picking in the 20's. Picking there is a crapshoot at the very best. Picking in the top five most definitely is not.
  17. Why do you think there were reports of biohazard waste piled to the ceiling in that patients room? It's because they could not properly and safely dispose of it under their normal guidelines, and leaving it in there was likely the safest course. I'd be willing to bet aides were not even allowed into the room and their normal duties fell onto the nursing staff, and even still there is just NFW they could remove contaminated waste even if they wanted to with CDC officials monitoring every move. This is rudimentary stuff to anyone who has worked with infectious biohazardous material of an even routine nature.
  18. I read about the condition in the room that the nurses reported and obviously the proper procedures and PPE guidelines were not followed because two of them got sick, but I promise you that the biohazardous material generated in that patients room was not allowed to be disposed of as normal everyday biohazard waste by an untrained worker. That would be like trusting a janitor to safely dispose of weapons grade plutonium. The CDC has looked bad during this, but there is just NFW they would allow something like that to happen.
  19. Even in the cluster that was the Dallas hospital, there is NFW that a single untrained aide is going to be tasked with the disposal of BSL-4 level biohazardous waste from an ebola patient. NFW.
  20. Remember in 2006 when we played in the NHL and lost the ECF due to injuries to key players? Well its time to turn the tables in the CHL and have the Canes go down the CHL tubes due to the return of key players from injury. And I agree TrueBlue, if McEichel isn't in Buffalo....anywhere but Carolina.
  21. Hopefully this hot CHL start will render any attempted soul crushing post deadline runs to "no-McEichel" moot.
  22. Have you explored other parts of the state? A weekend at a bed and breakfast in Asheville or at the coast (Beaufort) might take her mind off things.
  23. Good to hear that you may be in the clear. People have been walking on eggshells here for a good six months about "restructuring". I always walk away from these conversations when they start because at the end of the day I have no control whatsoever if they want to ###### can me. Well last month they ended up letting 14 people go, and they did it one morning while I was out attending an event at my daughters school. So I walk back in the building around lunch time and people are looking at me like I'm a ghost. I was only gone for maybe an hour, but since people had seen me here that morning, and my desk was empty when they were walking people out..I must have been one of the unlucky 14. Looking back, after the way the culture has changed around here in the past month and hearing about the severence packages that were handed out, being one of the 14 might not have been so bad....
  24. Did the winner get a jersey last year? Ha I didnt even know. Yeah I was only thinking bragging rights and for the purposes of making things interesting this year.
