  1. Back at wicked weed today on the way back from Gatlinburg, TN. There are plenty of fantastic non hoppy beers offered at wicked weed. Looking at the beer list now they have a witbier, saison,a "Coolcumber" summer beer that my wife loves, an american session ale, not to mention all their sour beers from the funkatorium. This place should be an east coast road trip must stop destination.
  2. It's layers and layers of people don't you know? Battista? Bah! Pegula has men buried deep in the shadows doing his real dirty work. Battista is small potatoes.
  3. At wicked weed brewing in Asheville drinking their sweet talker session IPA. Its 3.8% abv and has incredible hop flavor and aroma. If you are ever anywhere near Asheville you absolutely need to stop at wicked weed, even if you're not a beer person, the food is equally as impressive. Edit: now at the brand new Sierra Nevada brewery outside Asheville. Holy crap is this place impressive! And the taproom menu...pig cheeks and marrow. Awesome.
  4. Nothing too fancy. Ended up smoking a nice mild robusto that I picked up in San Juan on a cruise stop in February. There are some macanudo, paratagas and padrons hanging around in there. I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to, maybe once a month. JR cigars is just down the road in Burlington so good deals are not far away.
  5. Great news bio! Options are always good. Drinking some sierra Nevada torpedo whilst some strip steaks are on the egg for a reverse sear. Thinking about following it up with a nice stick from the humidor. F'n fantastic ..
  6. The "chatter" that I've heard from my source is that GMTM was a bit put off by Babcock's extreme arrogance during the negotiation process. It's probably worth about the same as Harrington's NHL chatter regarding Battista...not much.
  7. And more great "bad karma" examples. Oh and maybe trot out some more of the classic anti-tank strawmen too.
  8. Something crawled under my man cave and died. I went out there to watch the hockey game last night, but the stench was unbearable so I had to come back inside. It felt like the CHL days of old...
  9. And yet you're perfectly comfortable giving GMTM the middle finger seconds after the news broke.
  10. Saw Steel Panther in Raleigh last week, and as usual just an awesome display of musicianship in a comedy spoof rock show. Next week is Rush in Greensboro. From the reports that I've read the boys have dusted off some classics for this tour with the second set having many of their 70's prog rock epics that haven't shown up in a set list in 30 years or more. Jacob's Ladder, Cygnus X-1, Xanadu, Lakeside Park... should be awesome.
  11. I think it's pretty simple.. Murray was going to engineer that roster to finish DFL come hell or high water. Whether Ted Nolan was or was not on board...GMTM ZFG.
  12. It means that if Babcock ends up signing here, then chz and that Buffalo39 character from hockeybuzz are one and the same.....or something like that.
  13. Agreed. They swept spygate under the rug and now they've cheated again, embarrassed the league and are being defiant. Goodell has to be furious.
  14. If I'm Goodell I'd up the fines/suspensions just for putting that out there.
  15. So this just put the scandal back on my radar... and the Pats** wonder why people despise them. WTF is with this horsesiht? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/14/pats-jim-mcnally-called-himself-deflator-because-hes-fat/
  16. That's the place. I've been there a lot with my family but never ran into a situation where it was overrun with little ones like that. The other thing I like about JD's is that they do a different brewery tap takeover every month. I was there on Monday night (far, far too late) for wings and this month it's New Belgium brewery with four or five beers on tap.
  17. It's between Aviator and JD's for best wings in the area IMO, they are equidistant from where I'm at in HS. HS has Bass Lake draft house and My Way Tavern, but neither have great wings, just so-so. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings in town too of course, but I refuse to step foot in there. Aviator brews some very solid beers, but IMO Drafline brewery about a block north of Aviator is a notch above.
  18. Aviator smokehouse I'm assuming? They have great bbq there in general, and like you say when you order hot wings, they are indeed hot. If you haven't been before, JD's Tavern in Apex does grilled wings that have some great kick when ordered hot.
  19. Supposedly had the Kane deal and Tallinder return deal.
