  1. Found a Nashville bar showing the game finally. Let's go Buffalo!
  2. I knew there would be plenty of Bills fans in Nashville this weekend...but holy this town is painted blue and red today.
  3. They missed a very close offside, then a whole lot of other stuff happened in the Sens zone that ultimately resulted in a Sabres goal. That's where the NFL analogy breaks down as every down is a discrete play subject to the rules and challenges. Why draw the line at a frozen puck and ignore the face off that occurred where it shouldn't have because of the missed offside? Big inconsistency. But that's just a small reason why I hate the rule, I mainly hate it because it took too darn long and I have no faith that will improve.
  4. That's what I thought. Hate the rule.
  5. Right, so say last night instead of Kane scoring on a continuing play after the missed offside, the puck had been frozen by Ottawa and the Sabres score directly off the draw. Can they challenge and reverse that goal?
  6. So you only have the ability to challenge offsides and goalie interference occurring between the whistles? What if a team is offside, the goalie freezes the puck and you score directly off the ensuing draw? I really hate this rule.
  7. I don't think just losing a TO is enough of a disincentive to discourage "reversing the momentum" challenges that a team knows stand little chance of being over turned. TOs in hockey aren't as valuable as NFL TOs for example.
  8. Don't like the challenge rule, but have to admit while watching in real time I did think the play was offside. Am I right that if you lose a challenge you lose your TO? That's it?
  9. Getting old sucks man. Turned 44 in August and had the same thought about becoming the spitting image of my old man.
  10. If this was last year I'd be really pulling for my prediction to be true, but since it's not I'm going to change my vote and go with Rhinehardt.
  11. i think anyone who has been exposed to statistical analysis on any level should have a full appreciation of this concept. The "be all end all" strawman is typically thrown out there by the analytics skeptics, not the proponents. required reading: http://www.amazon.com/Naked-Statistics-Stripping-Dread-Data/dp/039334777X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444313504&sr=8-1&keywords=naked+statistics
  12. Our two tank prizes on the same line opening night. This I like very much. I also like the feeling of the whole board united in a common goal of cheering for winning some damn hockey games. Let's get this thing rolling!
  13. No band in particular, the last time I did this trip our hosts took us out for a nice steak dinner and then out on the town to sample the vibrant Nashville music scene. You get to see and hear some real talent before the corporate suits sign them, over produce their sound and strip the music of any soul it once had.
  14. For anyone on the Atlanta area, Wicked Weed announced today that they will begin distribution in your area. Look for bottles to begin appearing on store shelves within the next week.
  15. So I'll be at the game Sunday. Getting flown in, game ticket and hotel paid for with pre game sideline pass and suite tickets. Is it wrong that I'm more excited about all that and going out for some live music and good food on Saturday night than I am for the game itself?
  16. Actually you're right, the trophy needs a new name as finishing in 30th now only guarantees the 4th overall pick and therefore it's unlikely you'll see a team sinking to the putrid depths that we witnessed last year.
  17. Sabres 10th in conference. Cup: Lightning Shart: Coyotes
  18. This was indeed stuck in my head..not good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwDu3ZhE9CM
  19. Definitely remedy that. Enjoying one at the man cave right now whilst enjoying a view of the sun and blue sky for the first time in two weeks. So good
