  1. At this point with playoffs being an extremely remote possibility I don't think there's really anything wrong with this sentiment. Rooting for a full season tank is a thing of the past and something I don't wish to ever do again, so while I won't actively cheer losses and a last place finish like the past two seasons, I will recognize that finishing towards the bottom of the non-playoff teams rather than the top offers a better long term outlook for our Sabres......and if somehow the Sabres were to win the damn lottery......whoa what a priceless FU smirk we'd see on 'ole GMTM.
  2. It took awhile, but it eventually opened for me.
  3. Damn. I jinxed him with that post a few weeks ago. http://www.abevigoda.com/
  4. I forgot about this show, I have a few contacts at PNC (the raping and pillaging hasn't completely damaged my reputation) so I'll have to sniff around some. Scored a suite for Billy Joel a few years ago for my wife and her friends.
  5. I do acknowledge that they are under performing, I just think sniffing or making the playoffs is too high a bar to hold this team to even if everything went right.
  6. I just don't see how anyone could think with how young this team is and all the new pieces having never played together, new coach and system would be anywhere close to the playoffs.
  7. I did not expect them to be in the hunt for DFL, however there is still plenty of hockey left to play. I did think the Sabres were a dead cinch lock to be bottom 10 and I have a charity bet out there with someone (can't remember who Assquatch) to prove it. I will also remain consistent and think the best way forward for this team once the playoffs become impossible is to win the shart. However, I will not actively root for them to do this as I did the past two seasons and am willing to just let the chips fall where they may. This was always going to be another lottery season but I do understand the frustration.
  8. The bandwagon in Carolina is over crowded, but I'll deal as long as NE is done. Edit: I'm all in on Denver anyway since the law of misery loves company will not allow me to root for Carolina or Arizona to win their first super bowl before the Bills.
  9. Since the joy of Bills playoff success has been muted with time, I'll take the next best thing and enjoy those from NE going home. On cloud nine here.
  10. A team that tanks and is an immediate playoff contender of course.
  11. Walked up to a local watering hole. Wicked weed pernicious IPA.
  12. I prefer to think of it as Jeff Wright and Evander Kane. Four beers in with the neighbors.
  13. Just got the email...our site is operating on a two hour delay tomorrow.
  14. Agreed, it's his job to lose and he'll be given a ton of rope. My brother in law played a round of golf with Alfredsson and some of the Sens execs a few weeks ago. I had asked him to get some Lehner intel and this is what he reported back.... Lehner is extremely crazy/flaky/intense..even for a goalie, and he was universally thought of as having an elite skill set by the entire Ottawa front office. As we know high price was due to knowing how much GMTM loves the kid and risk with trading another goalie in the division.
  15. If she works for Wake county I'll put the over/under at 7 PM tonight for when they cancel school tomorrow, that of course being well before any actual precipitation of any kind is expected to fall. I still get pissed at the thought of all the mornings I spent next to the radio as a kid looking out the window at a foot or more of snow and listening to the school closings. Gowanda Central.......Holland Central... Hey Stan Roberts where the is Hamburg Central?
  16. French toast is what people in the south apparently desire during a weather emergency. Bread, milk and eggs are always cleaned out.
